"Rise and shine!" Euphoria Twist proclaimed with a sickly sweet smile as she stormed into the Calla's room. "Today is a big day." She opened the curtains, before realising that something was missing. Calla was not there.
However, the escort was already used to receive that kind of treatment from the brunette. Nevertheless as sigh escaped her lips. "Not again," she moaned.
Euphoria was ecstatic when Calla made a new friend after her games. She liked the girl and preferred her only victor not to die of loneliness. But there were two things the woman disliked about her newfound friendship:
a) Calla's friend was none other than Johanna Mason who made rather rude comments on Euphoria's attire whenever their paths crossed. She was hotheaded and bad-tempered. The escort did not like for Calla to surround herself with someone like that. She was simply a bad influence.
b) Every other morning the woman would have to storm to the quarters of district seven to get her tribute ready for the day.
It was one of those days. The escort was already done with her life and it was only 7.30 a.m. The thought of having to see Johanna Mason again ruined her day.
Without further complaints she waited for the elevator door to open. Beep. Her gaze met the one of Haymitch Abernathy. As soon she stepped foot into the elevator, an unpleasant smell befell her. The victor reeked of smoke and liquor. She tried to fight it, but ended up making a disgusted face.
Moments like these, made her realise how lucky she was to wind up with a victor like Calla; polite, well-groomed and quiet.
She pressed the "7" and within short seconds the doors opened again. Euphoria Twist was glad to escape the brutal stench and marched right up to Johanna Mason's bedroom without second thoughts. It was all routine to her.
The door was thrown open and she opened the curtains once again, allowing the light to enter the room. "Rise and shine! Today is a big day!" Euphoria repeated the exact same words every morning.
Calla looked up, only to bury her face into Johanna's shoulder with a groan. The girl was not ready for the escort's presence yet.
"Come on. Come on. We're already running late," Euphoria Twist sang in a cheerful manner.
"It should be illegal to be morning person." Euphoria's face fell when she heard Johanna's snarky comment. In the meanwhile, Calla Forte couldn't help but chuckle.
The other girl's shoulder could not muffle her light laughter. Euphoria scolded. "Calla, remember you still have to eat breakfast and then go to your stylist to get ready for the evaluation."
Another groan was heard. "I won't get any sponsors anyhow," she sighed. "So why even bother? Let me sleep, please." Her eyes were closed and her body buried in the soft blankets. She had no intentions to get up anytime soon.
