Oliver, Olivia, Sarah, Jackson, Sam and another kid were around a table in the lunchroom discussing what happened the day Kyle went berserk and fainted right afterwards. It was mainly the high school students questioning the middle school students since they were the ones that saw everything.

"So let me get this straight, the freak bit Kyle's neck and practically ripped it open but instead of dying he got super strength, killed two freaks, and managed to make the other run away in fear."

"Yeah, that's what happened bro only he looked like he was turning into a freak. His right eye was black like theirs and there were black veins and puss all over his neck. or at least what was left of it."

"Oh god... ugh, gross."

"It was more that gross it was fucking terrifying!"

"Hey language! You're a middle schooler, you shouldn't be talking like that!"

"Does that even matter anymore? Hasn't anyone told you? The world is ending." Isaac was another high school sophomore he was sitting with the rest of them taking notes on everything he could.

"You don't know if this is worldwide yet, plus even if it is, that's no reason to lose our innocence"

"Hmm, I guess you're right, but I don't see anything wrong with maturing a little faster." Isaac then went back to editing his notes while Olivia glared at him in annoyance, Oliver just sighed and quickly changed the subject before things got worse.

"*sigh* Ok now going back to topic, was there anything else weird happening to Kyle?"

" To Kyle? The only weird thing that happened to him after that was when he was done being a badass, he turned back to normal as if he was never acting weird in the first place then he fainted, besides that no, but the freaks were very weird though, they were Mutant! Bigger and stronger with-"

"With all sorts of abnormal and disgusting mutations? Yes, we encountered them here as well Jackson."

"Yeah? Well did you see how the more they eat, the nastier they get?" Oliver, Olivia and Sarah looked at Jackson in shock, true they saw advanced and horrifying forms of the freaks, but never did they see how exactly they got to such states. However, Sam nodded her head to confirm she saw it as well, it shocked all the high school kids, except Isaac.

"Hm, actually yes, during our unpleasant but thankfully brief encounters with the freaks, my team has noticed that they change significantly when they eat. It seems that not only do they use human or EVO flesh as vessels and not even just a food source, but also fuel for biological upgrades... it's truly fascinating!" Everyone at the table couldn't help but look at Isaac with great concern while he smirked at this newfound discovery.

"Ahem, well I guess now we know why some freaks are more advanced than others." Once again it was up to Oliver to prevent the atmosphere from getting awkward.

"That's true but I still wouldn't call it fascinating, more like cheating, I mean when they eat, they grow stronger and when we eat, what happens? We just get less hungry?! That's fucking bull shit!"

"Hey language!"

"Oh, go suck a co-"

"Don't talk to Olivia like that." Oliver grabbed Jackson's shirt by the neckline and glared at him with anger. Jackson knew he could beat Oliver in a second, but instead of starting pointless conflict he decided to cool down and leave it alone.
