Chapter 11: Death and Darkness

Kyle and Sound ran toward the school but on the way there they couldn't help but look in horror at the chaos of the parking lot. The Frost kids were trying to defend and start up their school buses, but the freaks swarmed them with overwhelming aggression and as such the buses were getting torn apart and the kids were dying faster than they could fight back. Kyle saw that some of the Frost kids ran from the buses and toward the school though some got ambushed by wandering freaks. Sound seemingly winced at the sight, though Kyle wasn't entirely sure with their face being covered in bandages. though Kyle had no sympathy for the Frost kids and now was not the time for hesitation. He grabbed Sound's hand and ran to the school entrance.

Now that they were close Kyle was surprised to see a golden force field, the freaks kept the freaks from getting past it while the Elkins kids on the inside were stabbing at them with their wooden spears, to various levels of success. The freaks, however, stopped attacking the forcefield and looked back at Kyle and Sound while growling angrily getting ready to attack. Sound quickly blasted two of the freaks back into the force field crushing them between it and the sonic blast.

"Hey, watch it! the force field is being held up by Mike but he barely holding it up as it is!" Jackson's words were confirmed quickly when Kyle saw the force field started glitching out as if it was losing power. Kyle knew that if sound stayed on this side, they would have no way of preventing themselves from hitting the force field. Kyle then grabbed Sound by the waist and lifted them up with ease.

"Support me on the other side!" Kyle didn't wait for a response instead he just threw Sound over the freaks and into the force field. The freaks then roared in anger and charged at Kyle, Kyle on instinct alone raised his hands and his fingernails turned into black claws. Kyle was surprised by this but for now he had to focus on the approaching freaks. Kyle was once again surprised when he managed to slash down the first one with ease, he just slashed once, and it was cut in two. However, it still wasn't dead and quickly clawed on the ground and bit his leg. then two more freaks grabbed onto and bit into his shoulder and waist.

"Kyle! God damn it not again!" Jackson started stabbing at the freaks as fast as he could while Sound was carefully letting their fists out of the forcefield and blasting sonic boom blasts at the freaks. However, they both stopped in astonishment when they saw how Kyle was still standing and confused himself to see that although the freaks were biting him aggressively their teeth could not pierce his flesh. Kyle looked at Jackson and they both smiled at each other for this newfound discovery of Kyle's strange abilities. Kyle then slashed at the two freaks biting him, making sure to destroy their cores as well, he then stopped on the head of the freak biting on his leg.

Jackson cheered in delight but noticed Sound and his surfers all wasting time watching as well, he quickly yelled at them to get back at taking out the freaks attacking the force field. Kyle continued to slash and smash the freaks that were wandering off from the force field toward him. However, Kyle quickly met a mutated freak, it had bone spike growing out of its left arm and its right arm had bone armor growths and elongated black claw fingers. it showed its claw proudly at Kyle, Kyle glared at the freak unamused and slashed at the freak, but the freak managed to stop Kyles attack by locking its claws with Kyle's.

The freak seemingly laughed as it closed its fingers on Kyle's but then stopped and made noises of confusion while it was trying but failing to crush Kyle's hand. Kyle then smirked and crushed the freaks hand, the freaks screeched in pain, but Kyle stabbed its chest killing it instantly. Kyle then heard Jackson shouting at him to watch out and Kyle quickly turned to see a freak with a large mutant fist ready to punch him with it. Kyle quickly countered by punching back and when their fists collided it made a large impact of force. however, Kyle punch proved to be stronger as it started digging into the fist of the freak tearing it apart quickly and brutally. The freak screeched in pain and quickly tried to run away only for Sound to shoot it with a sonic blast mangling its body and killing it instantly.
