Chapter 13: One Half of Greed

During the Elkins kids evacuation, the monster on the Frost kid's bus had already mutated so much and yet was still looking for more meat to eat. However, he was out of luck because he had already eaten everything the bus had to offer.

"Damn... I was so close to hatching... So close." He was so furious, he was quite literally one bite away from his goal, yet he didn't have any meat left. He looked around the area hoping that he would find a wandering rodent and as luck would have it, he saw a trail of blood from the bus leading to a field on the other side of the road. In a distance he could see an injured rodent limping to the woods beyond the empty grass field, marking its trail with blood. He grinned and slowly walked toward the rodent, he stood tall, yet the rodent didn't turn around but kept walking. the monster felt a little disappointment that the rodent wouldn't gaze on his almost perfect form, his form was twice the height and size of an adult human, his entire body was almost skeletal like and was a color mixture of pitch black and crimson red, his newly grown arms had finished developing making them look as strong as his current ones, and more spikes grew around his head but now some of them grew longer to somewhat resemble a crown.

"Hey rodent! Maybe in your next life you should consider not leaving an obvious trail for predators to follow!" The rodent didn't respond; instead, it just kept limping toward the woods. The monster should have been annoyed by this but with his time to hatch so close he figured it would be wasted to feel negative during a glorious moment so instead he just smiled in delight.

"Hahahahaha you pathetic rodent! DIE!" The monster raised its arms, ready to snatch it prey but then the rodent looked back, and a black orb formed in its hand. The rodent then threw the orb at the darkling but bounced off and hit the rodent splashing a dark green substance all over the rodent and the grass around it. The rodent was screaming and looked to be melting, whatever that substance was it had the properties to melt and destroy whatever it touched.

"Ew... Eh, I only need a little meat anyways." The monster opened its mouth, its tentacle tongues latched on to the screaming rodent unaffected by the rot the rodent was covered in. The darkling then used its tongues to pull the rodent into its mouth and swallowed it whole.

"HAHAHAHA FINALY! HAHAHAHAHA!" The smallest sliver of skin still not mutated had finally turned black and he continued to laugh sadistically while his body started to melt. As he was melting and laughing, he was walking onto the road and stopped in the middle, he was still laughing even as his body fell apart. Then he stopped laughing when his body melted into nothing but a puddle of black ooze. The red diamond core rose from the puddle of black ooze but stopped rising after reaching a certain height and became completely still. Then the core glowed brighter than before and red lightning shot into the sky and at the black ooze which made the black ooze rise up and take shape. The black ooze was controlled by the lighting to make a humanoid shape that covered the core. the core stopped shooting lighting into the air when it was completely covered.

The core was right where the heart should be in the humanoid figure, the core then filled the black ooze with the red energy allowing it to take shape. The left half of the body from the head down turned white and the right side stayed black; the body was perfectly divided from the head down, then a face formed on the head. The white side of the face formed half of a sinister red smiley face while the black side formed half of a blue peaceful smiley face. Then red energy from the core formed clothes around the body, it formed into a dark grey tuxedo with a half red half blue bow tie.
