Chapter 26: Lazy Light

Despite the victory they shared, the night was hard on everyone, and no one got a good night sleep because of it, in fact very few got any sleep in general. Some tried partying, others tried relaxing but no matter what anyone did they were still paranoid about the surprise attack last night. Unfortunately, those who didn't sleep lost their chance as the sun was rising. Kyle, however, despite accidentally sleeping on a table in the library, slept quite well and woke up as the sun rose. As Kyle stretched out, he saw Grizz who was already awake trying to chew on a book.

"Grizz come on. Don't do that." Kyle picked Grizz up and dropped him into his pocket. Afterwards Kyle went back to his room and used his blood to clean his old button shirt and jeans and changed into it. Once he was dressed, he went out of his room, down the hall, down the stairs and out of the mansion into the field. Now outside, Kyle picked Grizz out of his pocket and gently placed him on ground, Grizz continued to have the bored expression.

"Now we got lucky yesterday, there's no telling if or when the Insaro and his Arkums are going to attack again so starting today, everyone is going to train. We will be ready to fight and defend ourselves and that includes you. you're not going to be by my side forever, so I'm gonna show you how to fight." Grizz didn't make any noise at first but then just raised his front paws and then fell on his back as if pretending to be dead.

"Come on Grizz, don't be like that. Please, get up." Grizz laid like that for a little while longer before letting out a big yawn and then stood up on his hind legs. Kyle then covered his mouth trying not to laugh at how adorable Grizz looked while Grizz started to growl impatiently.

"Pfft! Ahem! hm! ok, ok! I'm good. *Clears throat* Now try to do as I do." Kyle then threw a punch with his left arm and then watched Grizz and waited for him to do the same. Grizz then grunted and then raised his left front paw as if to throw a punch. Kyle smiled at this, glad to see Grizz was at least trying, he then followed up with a high kick. Grizz, despite not changing his facial expression, tilted his head in confusion but then lifted his hind foot but this caused Grizz to fall on his back. This caused Kyle to burst out laughing to which Grizz got up and roared in anger. The roar caused Kyle to flinch for a second but then he started laughing again due to how cute Grizz's roar sounded. Grizz then ran on all fours toward Kyle and then started clawing his shoes.

Kyle was still laughing but then he felt like something was hitting his foot, he looked down and saw that Grizz was doing it. Grizz was so mad that he didn't notice that Kyle had picked him up, Kyle raised him high enough so that they could be face to face. Grizz was still throwing punches but then he noticed Kyle in front of him and when he did, he released his claws and tried to scratch Kyle's face. Kyle then shook Grizz around until he stopped struggling because he was too dizzy to do so.

"Ok calm down Grizz. Now, those punches were good, great actually! I want you to keep doing it just like that ok?" Grizz looked at Kyle with his bored expression again but then nodded, Kyle then put him back down on the grass and they started again. As the hours passed Grizz got more cooperative with Kyle's training and soon enough they were training together like master and student. Kyle continued with throwing punches and kicks consistently but then he noticed that Grizz was doing it faster and was even doing more advanced moves that looked like they were straight from a karate movie. Kyle was confused as to how Grizz could know karate like that but then thought that this was an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up.

Kyle was now the one copying Grizz, at first, he wasn't really good at it and kept messing up at trying to copy the moves Grizz was making though he persisted none the less. It took nearly another hour before he and Grizz were back in sync doing advance moves. Then after another high kick Grizz just stopped which caught Kyle off guard and almost made him trip. Kyle then looked at Grizz who just stood there for a little while but then raised his paws and then fell on his back again and fell asleep.
