Isobels POV

"Blue"

I looked her in the eyes, and I could see that in her mind, she had really been saying: Isobel.

It was Heaven. I had not seen her in nearly a year now. She had grown quite a lot, and was even taller and had more muscles than before.

I was just about to shout back at her, when I noticed all the eyes that stared at me. Only Erik knew that I had met Heaven. No one else.

I looked at the floor, and tried to ignore her. No one said anything, before Charles broke the silence.

"Red. I am glad you could be here. Please join the other girls, and I will explain why I summoned you girls here."

Red walked across the floor, and joined us, just as Charles told her to. I was glad he had chosen to ignore the fact that Heaven knew who I was.

"Perfect. I understand that you have some questions, but I will answer them later. Now, girls," Charles said, "I summoned you here to tell you about your future duties as guards, and how you will live your lives from now on."

How we will live our lives. Who does he think he is? He does not not get to plan my life for me, that's for sure.

"You girls all know that we raised you to be guards for a reason.
That reason is that you will serve the future king, but you knew that already.
You see, the future king is still only a prince. He is twelve years old, just as you are, and he will be crowned king, the day of his fifteenth birthday."

Makes sense, I thought, but when will we get to meet this prince.

"The prince is still not mature enough to meet you girls... let's just say that he was raised the same way as you.
Of course he can fight, but he, to say it mildly, is still a spoiled brat. You will meet him, on his fourteenth birthday. Hopefully he will be more mature.
Until his fourteenth birthday, all nine of you will have access to the whole castle, except the prince's chambers. We expect you to train every day, as usual, but this time you shall do it together."

The whole room was silent. No one knew what to say.

Does he expect us to just accept the fact that he decides our lives, and that he force us to train with each other, before we even know one another.

Finally Charles broke the silence he had created, by saying: "Do you have any questions?"

The girl with the violet hair stepped forward, and said:
"Was that the only reason you brought us here? To tell us that in two years we are going to meet the prince, and that we can now be all over the castle. You could just have told us in our rooms, instead of making us play dress up, and get overexcited."

"Well, I brought you here so you could all meet each other, and so I could tell you about what is going to happen to you, instead of having to do it nine times," Charles answered.

The violet-haired girl shook her head, and stepped back. Charles gestured to Thomas, Edda and the man who was probably Finn, Heavens teacher, to follow him. Edda looked confused, but followed the man anyway. All four of them went out a door I had not noticed at first.

Suddenly the guards started moving, and they left too. That meant that the eight girls and I were left alone.

In a whole minute everyone just looked around, confused. Then Heaven broke the heavy silence.

"Isobel. It has been so long. I have missed you a lot."

She stepped forward, and hugged me. I hugged her back. The truth was that I had missed her a lot too. We had only known each other so little time, but apparently we grew fond of one another, very fast.
