"Well, that was fun. Could have warned us sooner." JJ admitted.

"We would have, except Pope was on the math team," Kie answered.

"You were on the math team?" JJ asked.

"The cops took everything like it was a crime scene," Pope uttered and JJ sat up.

"Did you guys find anything?" JJ repeated.

"Did we find anything? No, I don't think so."

"Oh, yeah, we did." He added pulling out money and the gun he stole.

"What the hell?" Pope asked eyeing Everest with wide eyes.

"I tried to stop him." Everest shrugged.

"Dude, what?" Kie asked.

"Dude, chill. Come on." John B warned.

Pope stood up, "Why take that from a crime scene?"

"Better than cops having it." JJ tried to reason.

"You serious?" Kie asked Everest.

"I tried I really did, he's hard-headed." She addressed.

"I'm gonna lose my merit scholarship." Pope sighed sadly.

"Hey, hey, hey. Sh, sh, sh. sh, sh. At least you have us, right?"

"I'm living the nightmare."

Everest watched sadly as the lady cried over the body of her husband.

"Who's that?" John B asked.

"It's Scooter Grubbs. He was out during the storm." Some girl answered.

"Check out this pic I got. Dead body."

Everest glared at the girl, "Way to be insensitive."

"Insane." Kie coughed agreeing.

"Holy shit," Pope remarked.

"What kind of boat did he have?" JJ asked.

"Somehow, that dirtbag copped a brand-new Grady-White. Everyone's out looking for it." The girl revealed making Everest gulp.

Pope ran up to the door panting, "Okay. So, um... we didn't see anything. We don't know anything. We need to have total and complete amnesia."

"Actually, Pope's right for once." JJ agreed then got up, "See, I agree with you sometimes."

"Deny, deny, deny."

"Guys, we can't keep that money," Kie spoke up.

"Okay. Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans, Kiara." JJ snapped.

"We have to pass that off to Lana Grubbs." Everest agreed.

"Otherwise, it's bad karma," Kie added.

"Bad karma to be implicated in a felony, too. We gotta go dark." Pope acknowledged.

"If that means we get to keep the money, then I agree," JJ confessed.

"I don't agree." John B sighed.

JJ looked stunned, "What? Why?"

"Just think about it. This is Scooter Grubbs
we're talking about. Right,"

"Same dude that's buying individual cigarettes at the Porthole. Shit, one time I saw this dude begging for change in the Save-A-Lot parking lot."

"Because he needed gas." John B added.

"We're talking about a dirtbag marina rat who's never had more than 40 bucks in his pocket, and all of a sudden, he's got a Grady-White?" John B observed.

"Just sayin'."

Everest swallowed. There was foul play involved if the cops just took the money and saved some for their selves.

"All right, so think about it, Pope. How does a marina rat get a Grady-White?" John B asks as Pope overlooks his finishing pole.

"Prostitution," Pope answers making Everest roll her eyes.

"Square groupers, bro." John B dismisses.

"Okay, flying under the radar, no aerial surveillance. They don't do that stuff during a hurricane." He adds, looking back at JJ.

"What does that mean? JJ?"

"They were straight smugglin'." JJ answers.

John B smiles finally getting the right answer, "Smugglin'. And I guarantee there's a serious amount of contraband in that wreck.."

"Hell, yeah." JJ sought out.

"Fish on!" JJ yelled, nodding at Everest to help him rail the fish in.

"For the record, if that is a smuggling ship with illegal contraband on the inside of it..." Pope starts off.

"Mm-hm?"

"...it probably belongs to someone else," Pope notes.

Kie looks at Everest, "Minor details." They both nod.

"They could come looking for it. Taking it would be catastrophically stupid." Pope reasons.

JJ grabs the money, "Right. Well, stupid things have good outcomes all the time."

"All we need to do is figure out a way to get into the cargo hold of that wreck. Until then, we just lay low. Just act normal." JJ adds, making Everest shake her head.

Pope Sighs, "Right. And how exactly do we do that?" He questions, glancing around.

"Kegger?" Kie began.
