—EVEREST opened her eyes and noticed her mind was clear. Nothing clouding it or poisoning it with dark thoughts.

She then felt a hand pull her on her waist and she felt a smile crawl up onto her lips.

Everest rolled over—her dark brown eyes meeting JJ's bright blue ones.

"Hi." She uttered—watching as JJ observed her fully before he smiled— "Hey."

He then lifted his hand—pushing back a loose piece of her hair and tucking it behind her ear. His numb tracing over her cheek.

Her stomach spun with butterflies and did cartwheels and her lips parted to say something but nothing came out.

She moved her head closer to his—testing her limits as she looked at his lips.

Everest then moved even closer—her nose brushing against his as she looked into his eyes.

"What are we doing—" JJ uttered—his blue eyes staring back into her brown ones as he angled his head—their lips almost touching.

She smiled—"I don't know." She mumbled back—closing the gap and pressing a light kiss on the corner of his lips before pulling away and sitting up in her bed hearing as he exhaled deeply.

—EVEREST walked out of her bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.

She stopped and watched JJ walk around her room—looking at some Polaroid pictures of her and Kie—some of her and her mother Lucia—some of her and Sarah Cameron who stopped being friends with her after she got kicked out of Kook Academy. And lastly a Polaroid of her with friends from New York.

She looked him up and down—a smile tinting her lips. He was wearing a grey pair of water shorts—his black boots—a green shirt-and a grey hat.

He turned around when he heard her close her closet door. "You and Sarah Cameron?" JJ asked through the door. Distaste on his tongue.

She hummed— "We were friends when I went to Kook academy..."

"Were?" He questioned.

Everest pulled out a black bikini and pulled it on before grabbing a white crop top that read Fun in the sun. Malibu.

She pulled it on then grabbed a pair of jean shorts—pulling them up her slim legs.

She stopped to answer— "She stopped being friends with me after I got kicked out." She then put on a pair of plain socks and her favorite white converse—tying them up before pulling the door opened.

He took a step away from the door and narrowed his eyes at her—"Why did you get kicked out?"

She gulped looking up into his ocean eyes, "I pulled out a gun on all of the girls that beat me up in a bathroom—they lied and said that I was threatening to fuck em up instead and the school have apparently takes bullying seriously there..."

JJ's eyes widened— "A gun? Where the fuck did you get a gun?"

"It was my dads—I stole it and hid it in case if he ever found us again."

—THE stairs creaked under her weight as she walked down them and into the kitchen, opening the fridge to see what she would make for them to eat.

"Quien era ese chico en tu cama,"

Everest jumped and hit her head—a hiss leaving her as she backed out of the the fridge and shut the door.

She then swirled around to look at her mother's cold and scary hazel eyes.

"Que?" Everest asked—her heart racing rapidly in her chest.

"I asked you a question—"Her mother stated sternly crossing her arms in front of her own chest.

Everest hesitated as she heard JJ walk down the stairs and towards the kitchen.

"Hey Everest—what are going to eat? I mean we can go to the wreck and eat there if you want." He called out to her before walking into the kitchen— stopping in his tracks and tightening his grip on his book bag once he saw Everest's frightening stance and her mother Lucia looking at her.

"Oh shi..." He trailed off but shut his mouth as her mother Lucia turned to look at him.

Everest gulped but opened her mouth—"Mama this is JJ... He used to take care of Abuela Sofia and used to ayudarla con la casa....I met him through Kiara." She spoke and walked towards him—grabbing his hand.

Her mother smiled—a real smile—and extended her hand out to him, "I'm Lucia, it's a pleasure to meet you JJ."

JJ looked down at Everest before looking back up and taking her mother's hand—shaking it firmly. "It's a pleasure miss," He said and her mother smirked letting go of his hand.

"He has manners—Y es guapo también."

Everest's eyes widened— "Mama," She whined and leaned into his body as he tightened his grip on her hand.

"Ok fine—" Her mother giggled and grabbed her purse from the counter she had set it on and turned to look at them once again.

"Take care of her and please por el amor de Dios—no sex while I'm in the house and use protection!"

Everest gasped and JJ choked on air.

"Mama!"

"Okay—okay—I'm leaving." Her mother laughed and walked out of the kitchen and out the front door.

"Did she imply that it's ok for us to have sex while she's not in the house?"

She rolled her eyes—"That's all you got out of the whole conversation?"

JJ smirked—"Maybe."

"Cabrón!" She hissed and he dramatically gasped.

"Did you just call me a dumbass?"

"Yes."

"That hurt." He frowned making both of them laugh.

They continued laughing until Everest stopped and took a second to breathe.

"You're driving—" She said throwing him the keys to the car her mother leaves her in case she ever wants to go out.

"Why it's your car."

"This is embarrassing...but I don't know how to drive."
