Camila/You - I'll be your waitress today
"(Y/N), I'm going to need you to come in and help wait tables for the lunch rush. Juaie decided to call in sick at the last moment and you're the only onte that I could think of off of the top of my head who would be free." My boss told me over the phone, causing me to supress a groan. I finally got to sit down and start a movie with my dad and now I was being forced to cancel on him. I really hated doing that and I also hated leaving him home alone, but I did have to keep my job.
"I'll try and make it there before things start to get crazy but no promises. I didn't exaclty expect to have to come in today, so I'm no where near ready." I explained to him, looking over at my dad with an apologetic look on my face when he raised an eyebrow at me. He glanced at the phone in my hand before looking back at me, nodding a little to tell me that he was okay with me leaving despite the fact that he would be in the house alone and most likely board out of his mind.
"That's fine, just get here as soon as you can please. I really would like some help here so that we don't have a completely hellish day with the amount of orders that we are most likely going to get." He stated and I nodded slightly, knowing that lunch time was a bit crazy becasue all of the workers in the nearby buildings would be stopping by to get a personal pan pizza to eat before going back to work. I told him that I would be there as soon as I was ready and then hung up, looking at my dad as I did so.
(Y/N), don't you worry about me. I'll be just fine right here. I can't watch the Divergent at the moment but I'm sure that I can find something on Netflix to watch until you can make it back for movie day." My dad explained. I hesitated slightly before nodding, leaning over and kissing his cheek before taking off upstairs to get ready for work.
10 minutes later, I came back downstairs in my work shoes, the black work pants I had been given and the royal blue shirt that I had also been given. I told my dad bye one last time before I walked over to teh front dorr, grabbing my hat as well as my car keys before I took off ouside so that I could get in my car and get to work as quickly as I could.
It took me about 15 mintues to arrive at work, parking around the back of the building in the employee parking lot. Once I had parked I quickly got out and walked insdei the building, clocking in before I went to get my apron, knowing that I would also be working in the kitchen if Jamie wasn't here. He usually covered both the kitchen area as well as waiting on tables.
"(Y/N)! Can you please start helping out in the kitchen first? We haven't gotten may orders in yet but we want to have enough pizza hot and ready for when the lunch rush hits." Amanda, the only other female that worked in the pizza place called out. I turned to see that she was currently getting a pizza out of the over and smiled a little bit before nodding.
"As long as you promise to take the first round of angry business men." I said, being completely serious. I didn't mind waiting tables but I really didn't like being the first one waiting tables when lunch first started becasue of the number of business men that think they can come in here and get what they want by yelling. One of these days, I swear I'm going to yell at them and give them a little taste of what they keep dishing out.
"You're serious aren't you?" Amanda asked while boxing the pizza before she got ready to cut it. I nodded as I walked over to the station where I could wash up before I actually started helping out.
"As serious as the men that was through that door during lunch." I told her, causing her to chuckle a little. What I had just said really meant alot considering that all of the men that were most likely to come inside were some of the most serious people that I had ever met.
Amanda took me up on my offer and about 5 minutes after I had washed up, I started to hear people come in the door of the pizza place back to back. The lunch rush hour had offically started and I needed to step it up if I was going to keep everyone happy and keep Duke from getting into any trouble at the register.
I worked the first half of the hour in the kitchen, prepairing pizzas and them putting them in the oven as well as boxing pizzas and taking them to the counter so that Duke could get them there they needed to go. When Amanda came to swap out with me, I took a deep breath before taking off my apron and traded it for an ordering pad as well as a pen, walking out to meet the remaining men that still wanted to try and get lunch so that they could at least eat something.
To my shock, my time spent waiting tables didn't last that long. I didn't really get yelled at by anyone and I actually made some of the men smile, which was always something that I enjoyed. Making people smile. Before long, I was starting to wipe down some of the tables that some of the business people had used to that they could be used by others. I was almost finished wiping down the last table in the little area when I heard the door of the place, causing my to turn to greet the person, though when I saw who it was I froze in place, leaving Duke to greet her.
"(Y/N)? I didn't think that I would see you again." Camila said as she smiled happily and walked over to me. I smile happily while my heart skipped a beat as I watched her walk over to where I was. Suddenly I felt a little embarrassed that I was only in my flour stopped working shirt and pants while she was looking as beautiful as ever.
"Well, here I am. What are you doing here?" I asked while raising an eyebrow slightly. She didn't say anything and just sat down at the table that I had just finished wiping down.
"After that pizza that you delivered to me, I was kind of hoping that I could get another, only smaller. I'm the only one that decided to eat here while the girls tried something new." Camila explained and I smiled softly. I pu tthe rag in the little bucket that I had sat on top of the table and quickly took it where it needed to be befreo I returned.
"I see. Is there anything I can get you then?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah, actually but I can choose between cheese and pepperoni. Care to help me?" She asked with a small giggle. I chuckled slightly and nodded before suddenly slipping away to head to the kitchen. When I got back there, I cleaned up before starting on the cheese pizza for Camila, only stopping for a second when Amanda tapped me on my shoulder.
"You going to get her number of what?" asked causing my cheeks to redden slightly I shrugged a little and spilled the pizza into the oven once I had finished preparing it.
"I-I'm too shy to go out there and ask for it. Plus, she'll most likely never give it to me anyway, I'm nothing next to her." I explained while looking down at the floor. Amanda lightly patted my shoulder before I saw her walk off. I was getting ready to ask her where she was going but gave up when I realized that I had a pizza to watch so I couldn't distract myself.
I waited a little longer on the pizza to get done and when it finaly was, I put the little personal pizza in it's box before I walked it out to Camila. She happily took it and thanked me before she started eating after giggling a little bit. I opened my mouth to say something to her but soon ended up walking off to to kitchen once again, trying to find something to keep myself busy.
About ten minutes later, Duke called me to the front and told me that Camila had finished with her meal then asked me if I wouldn't mind cleaning it off. Nodding a little I quickly grabbed the cleaning bucket and walked over to her table, dragging a large trash can with me as well. I was getting ready to throw away her box when I noticed a written on napkin laying on top of it. Curious I reached out and picked it up, starting to read it.
Your friend told me that you were being a little shy, so I'm going to help you out. If you ever feel like talking and aren't texting shy, hit me up. ;)
I couldn't keep the blush off of my face as I looked down at the phone number that was written right under the message. Slipping the number in my pocket, I giggled happily before continuing with my cleaning while also making a mental note to thank my friend.
