Lauren/You - Starbucks... Again

I love my mom, I really do. She's amazing and I love spending time with her but there is just a point where I have to tell her that I want to go out and do something on my own. Today happened to be that day.

Since we had been going shopping almost every day this week so that all of our family would have Christmas gifts, I was starting to get sick of all of the big stores filled with Christmas stuff as well as families shopping together. I just wanted to be able to go to the mall and spend some time to myself where I could walk around, maybe walk into some of the stores that I like and then buy a good book or something without having to worry about pleasing others with what I got.

This morning when I woke up this morning, I got dressed and then finally told my mom that I just wanted to have a day to myself. Agreeing that I would help her wrap some presents when I got home later, she said that I could go as long as I didn't stay out too late. I promised that I wouldn't be out too late due to the fact that I knew how she tended to worry and then I grabbed my car keys as well as my winter coat before I walked out to my car.

It didn't take me that long to get to the mall, smiling happily to myself as I did. I had managed to find a rather close parking space and quickly parked before getting out. I pulled on my jacket, locked my car doors before putting my keys in my jacket and then walking towards the entrance of the mall.

When I got inside, I just started walking, not really caring where I was going because I was just happy to be here without a mission. I was here to just relax and have a good time. As I walked, I looked at all the different people that were walking around as well, smiling kindly to a lot of them only to get one in reply. I guess everyone else was just in a really happy mood today because most times when I came to the mall alone I would be ignored by all the groups of friends shopping together. The things that the holidays do to people.

I ended up making my way to Hot Topic and walked inside, smiling happily at this face. I was in one of my favorite stores with a desperate need to add some more band shirts to my collection. I started looking around, looking through the store before finding a few shirts that I liked as well as one necklace. The necklace was a white guitar pick with Crown The Empire written on it. One of the shirts that I would was a tank top that read 'Would you still be there' which was an Of Mice and Men quote. I also liked a black Seeping with Sirens pull over and a You and Me at Six shirt that read 'You never got to heaven but you got real close.'

Knowing that I would never be able to buy them for myself, I sent a few pictures to my mom, seeing as she had been looking for some things to get me for quite some time now. After sending them, I took one more look around the store before finally deciding to walk around some more.

After about an hour and a half of walking, I finally decided that I'd had enough walking and I was currently making my way back out to my car so that I could head over to the Starbucks that was across the street.

Once I was in the car, I quickly started it and then drove across the street, humming happily to myself on the ride over there. When I got to the parking lot, I quickly parked before I walked inside of the store, swinging my keys around one of my fingers as I opened the door and got ready to walk inside, though I stopped when I saw a familiar face making her way towards the door.

"Lauren." I said happily when she was standing in front of me, smiling softly at me in return. I couldn't help the widening of my smiled when she threw me her classic one.

"(Y/N), we meet again. At Starbucks again, might I add." Lauren said with a small giggle as she walked inside, causing my heart to skip a beat as I followed her inside. She looked back at me from over her shoulder and then looked ahead again, making her way over to a table. When she sat down, she gestured for me to do the same and I did, sitting across from her.

"I'm shocked that you ever bothered to remember my name." I said honestly as I watched her take off her rather cute beanie, sitting it on the table before running her hand through her hair, which was now black rather then brunette like it had been the last time that I had seen her.

"How could I forget the name of the cute girl I spilled coffee on?" Lauren asked while raising an eyebrow slightly. Cute? Did she just call me cute!? I though to myself while biting my lip slightly, leaning back in the booth that I was sitting in.

"Well, I'm glad that it only took one cup of steaming coffee for you to remember." I said while chuckling slightly, playing off the fact she had called me cute though I could feel my cheeks heating slightly.

"Hey, it could have been worse. It could have taken my two cups to remember. Anyway, are you skipping out on shopping once again?" She asked, shocking my once again when I found that she remembered the reason that I was in Starbucks the first time that we had met.

"Actually, this time I'm over here because I just got done shopping. Willing, that is. Told my mom that I wanted a day to myself to look around the mall of something and that's what I got. I finally decided to come get some coffee. Why are you here?" I asked curiously while pulling my winter coat off, having a feel that we would be taking for a little while.

"Well, I was just taking a walk while the girls warmed up in the hotel. I though it would be fun to take a look at town with all of it's decorations out." Lauren explained softly while shrugging a little before she looked out the window that was too her left and my right. I looked out with her and smiled happily when I saw that it has just started to snow lightly.

"The town if rather beautiful with it's decorations and some snow fall." I commented. I glanced over at her to see her nod a little before she looked back at me, a clearly delighted look on her face. Her happiness almost immediately spread over to my and I was soon smiling happily at her.

We started talking from there on out. She talked about how the girls were in town a little early to do a radio interview as well as a few meet and greets before they got ready for a show that they would be putting on in less then a week. She also talked about the girls and how they wanted to stay inside to keep out of the cold while she wanted to take a look around town.

I happily sat there and listened every word that she had said, throwing in some words of my own when she either looked at me to wait for a response or when I though that it would be cool to mention something about what she had mentioned. Like when she mentioned seeing the town, I told her about a few of the most beautiful places in town that I could take her to see if she wanted me too.

We talked for almost an hour an a half before she told me that she had to get ready to go. Before she had a chance to leave though, I offered to get her a coffee, a plan starting to form in my mind on how I could do something I had wanted to for a while. At first she told me not to worry about it but when I kept insisting, she eventually caved in and told me what kind of coffee she wanted.

I walked up to the register and told the young man that was standing behind it what I myself wanted before I told him Lauren's order. He nodded and then asked me for my name, which I happily gave him though I also stopped and asked him something else.

"Is there anyway you can help me out with something? I want to give this girl my number but I'm too shy to actually hand it to her. Anyway, I was wondering if you could write it on her cup along with 'Call me'?" I asked a little hesitantly at first. He smiled widely and asked what the number was, writing it on the cup as I told him, then writing 'Call me' under it.

I waited for our order to be ready and when I got them then walked them back to the table, Lauren was already standing and ready to leave. I smiled softly and handed her her cup before we both said our goodbyes and walked out of the little Starbucks. She went one way and I went the other.

About 15 minutes later I felt my phone go off and pulled it out of my pocket, my face breaking out into a wide smile when I read the message after unlocking my phone.

Really smooth, (Y/N). I know you wrote call me, but I hope that a text will be okay for now. Hopefully I'll see you soon because the idea of you showing me around is really starting to grow on me ;)
