Lauren/You - Lunch at the substation

"Lauren, come on, you've got to answer. It's either lunch or shopping." I said as I shifted on the couch, moving to where I was now laying down with my feet laying across the lap of my mother who was currently watching Supernatural on Netflix. When I placed my feet in her lap, she looked over at me with a raised eyebrow before she chuckled and then returned her attention to the TV in front of her

"Oh, so now you're making me chose? Come on, (Y/N). Don't make me do that because food is really awesome but I really want to see downtown while shopping." Lauren whined over the phone, causing me to chuckle slightly, now moving my feet from side to side in my mom's lap. I nodded a little to myself and moved my free arm to lay it over my stomach as I answer.

"Hey, you're the one that pointed out that it was close to lunch time. I only suggested we explore downtown. You brought this on yourself, and now you have to choose." I said, giggling slightly when I heard her groan over the phone. I was currently looking up at the ceiling, though when I felt my toe get pinched, I gasped slightly before looking down at my mom just in time to see her making a little heart shape with her hands. I blushed and shook my head before gently kicking her leg, causing her to laugh.

"Why can't I have both? I mean, if the food is downtown, then we can just swing by right? Technically we would still be exploring downtown." She said. I chuckled slightly at the fact that she had found a little loophole in my plans as well as the fact that I could practically hear her smiling into the phone. I made a little humming noise to make it seem like I was thinking before I finally answered.

"You and your little loopholes Lauren. Fine, lunch and a tour downtown as long as I can pick you up." I offered, shifting on the couch once again. This time I sat up and moved my feet to rest on the ground, looking over at my mom with a 'pretty please' look on my face. It was my way of asking if I could go on this date without actually have to verbalize my request. She chuckled slightly before nodded a little and I leaned over, kissing her cheek as a thank you.

"Sure, I'll text you the address. Can you be over here in 20?" Lauren questioned and I nodded, standing up to go get my winter coat as well as my keys. I told her that I could defiantly be there in 20 minutes and that I was getting ready to leave now so I had to go. We said our goodbyes and I put my phone back in my pocket before slipping on my winter coat, telling my mom goodbye before I grabbed my keys and walked out of the door.

15 minutes later I was standing in front of the hotel that Lauren had sent me the address to, leaning against the passenger side door of my car as I waited for her to come outside. I didn't want to tell her that I was here already because I didn't want her to rush and maybe forget something, so I was just going to patiently wait on her to come outside. Besides, I could handle a little waiting if it meant that I could take Lauren out on a date. After all, not many people got the chance to do that, so if I had to wait an hour, so be it. I would gladly wait that hour just to see her later on.

Lauren ended up walking down the steps of the hotel about 10 minutes later, looking around for something for a moment before she suddenly spotted me after I waved. When she walked over to me, she gave me a rather strange look before clasping one of her hands over her mouth as if she was shocked about something.

"I've kept you waiting haven't I? Oh my god, (Y/N), I'm so sorry. You should have messaged me and told me that you were here and I would have come down quicker. God, you must be freezing out here." She rambled on, only stopping when I placed my hands on her shoulders gently and laughed slightly.

"Lauren, you've got nothing to be sorry about. You took what time you needed to get ready and I wasn't about to rush you so don't worry about it. Besides, a little waiting in the cold weather doesn't bother me if it means that I still get to take you on a date at the end of the day. Now, get it so that we can get going." I explained, slowly removing her hands from her shoulders so that I could open the car door for her. I could see her cheeks flush slightly though I wasn't sure if it was from my words, actions or possibly the colder air nipping at her cheeks and nose. Either way, I found the pink tint to her cheeks rather cute.
