-Gwen Stacy-
I felt ridiculous.
My hair was down, slightly curled courtesy of my mom. My makeup also done by her. My dress, however was a bright blue color. It was skin tight and stopped midway down my thigh and it was a sparkly gemmed design. I'm not going to lie it was gorgeous.
I dressed up a lot for school but I wore layers. This homecoming dress was different. It had small spaghetti straps, but it had enough to cover my cleavage.
I was second guessing my decision at first but I'm glad I decided to go. Homecoming would help ease my mind and distract me from Peter.
He doesn't like me that way. It's obvious to me now. I just feel like an idiot for wanting more. After all, I just wanted a friendship with this guy right?
Right.
I look at myself in the full body mirror of my small room one more time, just waiting for Harry to arrive.
His family had many fancy cars and he insisted he pick me up tonight. Unlike his family, mine wasn't that wealthy. We owned one car and that was my father's police officer car. Anywhere else we walked. This was Queens after all.
I decide to pull on some silver bracelets to match my earrings when there's a knocking on the door. Right after my phone buzzes with a notification.
Harry: Here G.
"Gwen dear!" My moms voice echoes through our small apartment. "Harry's here!"
I give myself one last glance before taking my clutch and stepping out of my bedroom. My heels tapping on the hardwood beneath me as I walk towards the main room.
Dad had the late shift tonight, do he was leaving at the same time I was. He insisted on patrolling tonight to make sure the teenagers weren't getting into at trouble. He was in a good mood. Actually. Spider-Man had been MIA for a few days now and my dad was loving very second of it.
"Ew why do you have so much makeup on?" My smile falters at my younger brother's voice.
I have three. Me being the oldest. Howard, then Philip, and Simon.
Howard was in his pre teen faze and was a total asshole at times. Brutally honest and over the top dramatic.
I roll my eyes, looking over my shoulder at him. "Trust me Howard, all girls look like this in high school. Better get used to it."
