-Gwen Stacy-

There was something so intriguing about Peter Parker. I feel like a stalker wanting to know more about him, but I'm not good with friends. And I've said this a lot.

At lunch I usually sat alone, like always. However this time Peter caught my eye. He's been doing that a lot recently. It's a stupid crush. I'll admit it. Peter is super cute and a total sweetheart. His face is always flushed, like if he were always caught off guard or mildly embarrassed. It's adorable.

We've been chatting more due to chemistry class. He's always telling me how smart I am when he's top of the class. Peter's sweet. I like him.

I look over at him again and see that he still looks just as stressed out as he did earlier. The lines on his forehead are a dead giveaway. A boy that young should not be that stressed out all the time.

I debate walking over there with him and Ned, but decide against it once I notice his eyes follow Liz as she walks by.

Of course he's into Liz. How do I even compete there. Liz has everyone's hearts apparently.

Maybe some friends are meant to be just friends.

Mr. Harrington stopped me as I was about to go to my locker at the end of the day. I was honestly really surprised. He led the Decathlon team and it turns out they needed an extra because Peter quit on them for Nationals. It wasn't definite I would compete being new and all, but he said I was an incredibly smart student and he would love it if I could join them this weekend. That I would get the hang of it right away.

I agreed to this. Any academic opportunity is a definite yes to me. Besides it's not like I had anything else going on this weekend. And the competition was in Washington D.C. I've never even been out of the state, so I was definitely going to take this opportunity to shine and explore. Plus a new learning experience.

"Thank you so much Mr. Harrington." I told the teacher as I took the permission papers from his outstretched hands.

"Thank you Miss Stacy." He smiles kinky at me. "I now it's random and really late, but I would feel a lot more comfortable having extras. Just in case anything inconvenient were to happen. And you were my first choice."

"This means a lot to me," I tuck the papers inside my bag. "Thank you again."

"Yep no problem." He says, "we leave tomorrow morning meeting here. The bus will leave at 10. Have you're parents sign those and you're good to go."
