-Peter Parker-
"Peter are you even listening to me? Peter? Peter? PETER!" My best friend since forever shakes me violently by the shoulders and the muffled voices finally become clear.
"Jeez Ned!" I jolt up as if I had been sleeping but really I was just zoning out.
"Dude I've been trying to get your attention for like twenty minutes now," Ned responds exaggerating. "Who are you even staring at?"
"What.. I wasn't staring at anyone," I let out a nervous chuckle. I hate getting caught in an act. And more than that I hate lying when people clearly know I'm lying. That's embarrassing.
"Like you weren't just staring at all the fresh meat."
"Ned!" I gasp at his word choice and widen my eyes as I turn in his direction.
The black haired guy chuckles at my reaction, patting my back before taking a sip of his water. Clearly he's joking.
Yep. We were losers.
Ned and me.
Me and Ned.
Always just the two of us against Midtown high school. We're not the cool kids. But you probably assumed that already. It's not that we were weird, or were we? Maybe. Anyways, we just weren't exactly what you'd call 'cool' in high school. We were normal. In our eyes. We loved Star Wars and were geniuses in the school world. Had our own handshake. We were totally cool.
Who am u kidding. But It doesn't matter. Ned and I are best friends and well always have each other."No one." I whisper letting out a loud sigh as I pull my elbow off the table and I stare at my food.
But I couldn't help myself. I had to look at her again. My head rose slowly and I looked across the cafeteria at the girl I had recently spotted. I had never seen her before. I mean we did live in Queens, but usually I became familiar with my classmates faces. Her. Her I never knew.
She had bright almost white blonde hair that fell a little bit past her shoulders. She wore silver hoop earrings and long socks with her skirt. Her lips tinted with a a light shade of red.
I had to admit she was really pretty.I find myself beginning to zone off again when the loudest voice in the cafeteria shouts right in my left ear. "Hey Penis Parker!"
I flinch back and away from the one and only Flash Thompson. Apparently this small dude seemed like the most popular guy in the school. Don't ask me how. He didn't seem like it. But of course the rich kid always gets what they want.
I don't even bother telling him off anymore. Flash has always picked on me and I've found that if I speak up for myself, he'll just make sure to make fun of me for that too. He's always been awful to me. Throwing down my book, stealing my lunch food, and even tripping me in front of crowds. The nickname he to be the worst of them all.
