part 1
Depending on which of them you ask, the day that they first met was ...
either ridiculous or preposterously impossible.
Take your pick.April 19th, 1991
Either way... that day, history was quietly made.
In more ways than one.The truth of events of that day are, to be quite blunt, stranger than any of the fictions that have been passed around the rumor mills of the robotic duo's audience fan base over the years.
And yet... No one believed them either way.
Everyone asked.
But...
Everyone speculatively projected their own assumptions about them and the 'real origin story' onto them anyway. That's humanz for ya!
But, as far as Dj Zed and Mr Zeppo were concerned...
That was all fine by them.
It was kinda their schtick.'Are they for real?'
That was the desired reaction they were aiming for at first impression.
It suited their purposes to not be taken too seriously by the people of Dirt.

Throughout their subsequent career touring around playing gigs together, in venues great and small, people always asked them, "Where are you from, really?"
...and everyone laughed off their honest answers.Without fail- everyone would also ask, "Who made your costumes?"
The two of them toyed with everyone- answering that question a million different ways.
DjZed and Mr Zeppo toured around on planet Dirt for about a decade and a half before disappearing quite curiously from the global electronica muzak scene just a few years before the YK2 Global Outage and the collapse of the robot dance muzak craze. Their peculiar brand of post-modern electronic "synthetica muzak" never quite broke through into mainstream pop culture...
But they did manage to earn the admiration of a dedicated underground cult following.
Especially amongst young futurists and fringe visionaries, those who spent the early aughts warning the world of impending digital doom.
