chapter 14: paparazzi

Kate's POV

It's been a couple weeks since I went on tv with mommy and daddy, and also met billie. we had a couple of parties with all of mommy's friends who were at the first party.

I'm playing outside in the backyard, which is ginormous, I was playing in the sandbox, which is near the back fence but  when I saw someone, a guy in the trees

Scarlett's POV

I was watching tv with rose while Kate was playing outside, me and rose were having some quality time

"mama, there's a school dance in a couple weeks, can I go, I'm think of going with my boyfriend?" rose asked

"ya of course, love! hold on stay here i'm gonna check on Kate."

"ok!" she said

I walked over to the kitchen and looked out the window, Kate was playing in the sandbox, building a sandcastle I think, it was pretty heard to see since the backyard is huge and she was near the back part of the backyard.

thirty seconds go by and she look up towards the woods, I looked where she was looking, and I saw him... a man, he had a camera taking pictures with his camera of Kate, as soon as I saw what was happening I ran outside

"rose, call 9-1-1, tell them that there's paparazzi taking pictures in a private property!" I yelled at her tossing my phone toward her and running outside

"wh-what, uh- ok" she said

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY, YOUR TAKING PICTURES OF A 6 YEAR OLD!" I  yelled at the man picking up Kate 

minutes go by and im still yelling at him, and I hear a siren 

soon enough a woman in a police officer uniform walks through the house and back door

"devin smith , your arrested for trespassing on private property you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed to you." she said arresting the man

"what, I have to get this, this for my job!" he said

poor Kate was in tear now

"it doesn't matter if it is your job, it's illegal to go on private property, you were also taking pictures of a 6-year-old. we will have to take that into account." the officer said bringing him through the fence and to his car

"shhhh it's ok, it's ok, don't cry sweet girl" I said comforting her and bringing her inside

"hey, is she ok?" rose said

"yes, she's ok I think just scared, can you call aunt liz, and ask her to come over?" 

"ya, of course" 

"I'm going to go play with kate, try to calm her down, we will hang out later tonight, I promise!" I said

minutes go by and I sat Kate down in her room and took out some toys

ten minutes go by and I hear footsteps go up the stairs and see liz come through the door

"hey scar, what's with the flash mob?" she asked

"Kate why don't you play with your tis, while mommy and auntie liz talk in the hallway, ok baby!" I said gently since she was still crying 

I walked out in the hallway, closing the door
