For a week or so, the girl avoided anything to do with the rosy cheeked boy. That was, until she was walking with her friends in the hallway and found him looking at her as she passed him by.
As soon as their gazes caught, the boy spun on his heels and started to hustle away. That was, until someone traveling the opposite way bumped shoulders with him, and caused a few books and a folder filled with papers, to scatter to the floor.
While she watched the boy sigh and sink down to gather up his belongings, she found her feet moving towards him. She too, began to collect up the papers strewn about. When everything was picked up and she slowly began to rise with old assignments and notes clutched to her chest, she heard someone clear their throat. Her head whipped up to find the boy with a dimpled smile upon his face.
"Thanks." He said, looking down at the girl
The girl nodded slowly, handed over the papers hastily, and whispered "You're welcome." And then she grabbed her best friend's hand (who had came to stand by them without the girl realizing) and hustled away.
