That night when the girl got home from school, she couldn't keep her thoughts away from the boy.
No matter how hard she tried to focus, on her homework, her art or the movie playing (which was Ferris Bueller for like the fifth time in two weeks), she couldn't seem to keep her mind from wandering to him.
So after two hours of tapping her pencil impatiently on a sheet of unanswered algebra questions, she gave up and decided she'd do what she'd been debating all day:
Talk to the boy with rosy cheeks.
But instead of calling him, like she'd planned on earlier, she wrote him a letter, finding it a lot less nerve wracking.
"Dear Rosy Cheeks (as you've not so secretly been lovingly named),
I am not good with words. In fact I'm down right terrible; whether they're spoken or written. Or if they've been thought out for hours or escaped from my mouth in a sarcastic response to stupidity. So I'm apologizing in advance for how dreadful this must be to read. But I wanted you yo know something.
I may not understand what you're going through right now and that you might not feel comfortable telling me. And that's perfectly okay, I don't want you to feel as if I'm pressuring you into doing something you feel is straining or uncomfortable to you. I just wanted you to know that I will always be here for you. Whenever you're ready or whenever you need me. I'm here.
I know we haven't known each other for the longest time and this may seem odd to you; but I know how terrible it is to feel alone. Whether you're going through something difficult at the moment or not. I had the worst feelings when here was no one there for me to talk to. And then my friends came along, and everything seemed a bit more bareable.
And I want you to know that when I mean I'll be there for you for anything; I mean anything and everything. If you need me to just sit there silently with you for three hours, I will be there. If you need me to distract you by endless and atrocious puns or by talking nonsense or by my horrendous singing voice just to keep your mind off of things, I will. If you need to go on a drive to somewhere new or relaxing or a walk through town or you need someone to just rant to, I will be there. No questions asked, because I get that it sucks to not have someone there. I'm not saying that you don't have someone right now, I'm just telling you that if you did already, you have another.
I'd also like you to know that you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met. You consistently spread joy and kindness towards those around you, no matter who they are or what they're like. You put peoples feelings before your own, your patience is ceaseless. Your humor is almost exactly like mine (which means its amazing) and your artistic ability astounds me. I could go on forever and ever, but you are unlike any person I've ever met (and that is an extreme compliment.) You are not a burden or a bother to anyone, and I can promise you that. You are an uplifter and an inspiration to those who know you. And I thank you for that. For being you.
And that is all that I wanted you to know. That you are not a burden and that you are loved, cared for. That you are strong I am here for you for you, no matter what.
Sincerely,
Pale Eyes."The next day, the girl took the neatly folded and enveloped letter and slipped it into the boys locker.
And when the boy got home, with the envelope clutched tightly in his hand, he sat down at the edge of his bed; staring at her nearly perfect handwriting.
Then he opened it slowly, with shaking hands and read it.
And for what seemed like the hundreth time in the past week...
He cried.
But this time, they were tears of admiration and relief and a hint of joy, instead of sorrow.

Bella's note: I'm f-ing pissed off because I had this all typed out and it was PERFECT and then it got deleted on my writing software and I couldn't get it back and this just isn't the same. The part of the letter where she described how great he was, was so much more heartfelt. But I tried my best :(
It's now 12:12 am and I have school tomorrow so lol. Night/morning to all my lovelies :) xx
(Tell me what you think!!!)
