Maximilian Arthur's POV

I was seven years old, and my brother, Archi, was three years old when Mama Kai participated in the big research conducted by Lolo Rain. It was a research about men conceiving a baby, all about uncovering the mystery behind why a man can be capable of bearing a child, when the world knows that only a woman can get pregnant.

At first, Daddy Priam didn't want Mama to join that research. Aside from loving Mama the most, he was also possessive. He didn't want anyone to touch Mama besides him. They spent countless nights arguing and debating about that matter. But in the end, Mama's decision won, as often happened in our house. Mama held the power in our household.

During that time, whenever Mama Kai's body was being studied, Daddy was also there. He wanted to witness everything the doctors and researchers did to Mama's body. The research lasted for almost a year and was successfully completed with the help of the government and the participation of international doctors and advanced technology.

The research concluded that bearing a child was not really a miracle but rather a genetic disorder, specifically an X-linked disorder that could be passed from generation to generation, even skipping a generation. This disorder took place in the human's sex chromosomes, either X or Y. Since it was an X-linked trait, the victims of this disorder were men. It was referred to as "bearerism" because the man carried the trait or disorder. Such men were still called "bearers."

Unfortunately, I inherited Mama Kai's genes, and I am also a bearer, carrying Mama's trait. Fortunately, my brother Archi wasn't. It's not a disease that can be transmitted, as I mentioned earlier; it is inherited.
