"I have had it with your attitude!" barked the senior wizard.
"It's not my fault that you haven't gotten around to teaching me any of the interesting spells," I complained. "I don't need to learn nine different variations of crop augmentation incantations!"
"Those are the spells that customers are actually looking for," he replied. "There's a lot less demand for the grand lightning and fireball spells than you would expect in times of peace. This is how you'll earn an honest, steady stipend from your home village."
"Couldn't you teach me just one fun spell?" I argued. "I'm not even asking for fireballs. Maybe just a summer thunderstorm spell?"
"You're not ready!" he said dismissively.
"Or maybe you're too old and washed-up," I retorted.
Which is why I'm now spending three days as a frog. You know, flies aren't that bad when you get used to them. Ribbit!
