Her P.O.V
This kid was bipolar absolutely fucking bipolar. That's all that kept running through my head as I couldn't sleep. Boy was I tired this morning when I stumbled down the stairs and made a cup of coffee.
The coffee seemed to only slightly wake me up.
The sound of steps coming down the stairs and turned around to see Cole.
"Morning Kennedy" he said as he grabbed a a cup from the cabinet making himself a cup of hot chocolate.
After adding some whip cream he took a sip and sighed. Making me giggle as he had whip cream on his nose.
"Uhm you have a little bit" I pointed to his nose.
"Where" he smudged it making me laugh harder.
I grabbed a napkin from the holder and took a step closer. Wiping gently across his nose and getting it off.
I looks up at him into his soft brown eyes and watched as his eyes went from mine down to my lips for a second and came back up.
"Thanks" he mumbled into the small space between us before closing in on the gap. I wasn't gonna stop him because hey it was just a kiss.
Just as his lips brushed mine the door unlocked and we parted to see my father.
"Morning Sweetie, good morning Cole" my father greeted carrying his morning papers and coffee.
He head straight to the back deck to lay in his chair in the sun just like he did every day that he had off in the summer.
I grabbed my coffee and sat at the counter scrolling through my phone and replying to a few messages. Looking at Cole as he got himself a bowl of fruit loops which happened to be both our favorites.
My eyes couldn't help but wander over his nicely toned and right torso. God how his muscles made me weak, that boy was a sweet piece of southern heaven.
Wait! Wait! Wait a minute! What was I thinking. This kid was crazy and bad not to mention he was always so hot and cold.
But what he had done for me yesterday was indescribably uncharacteristic for him. My father had a three strike policy with these kids that he takes in for the summer. Usually they messed up once and learned but Cole gave up his second strike for me. When knowing him he could use it pretty bad.
I couldn't like him not at all, I made that promise to my father when I became a teenager. That I would never get involved with one of these boys no matter how cute because all they were was trouble. Also the fact that most faked like they had changed just to get a good report.
Something about Cole was so alluring though. He was a big mystery to me and I couldn't seem to set it down.
I shook off my thoughts and finished my coffee. Heading over to the sink just as he was to place his bowl in.
Our hands brushed as we both reached for the sponge. I brushed his away gently and looked up at him.
"I got this don't worry" I spoke softly turning on the water and adding soap to the sponge.
"I kind of owe you big time for yesterday" I added with a smile
"Thanks Kennedy" he left placing a simple kiss on my cheek.
What was it about this kitchen that seemed to bring our lips near each other! First we made out earlier this week. Now he is doing cute things like kissing my cheek.
However watching him scary off mortified with himself seemed like the funniest thing I had seen in awhile, my laugh hidden by the loud crash off the water against the steel sink.
This boy was more and more confusing but I wasn't going to think too much into it quite honestly. It would be a summer fling if anything and I didn't even expect that.
One thing I knew though was that if I ever needed a good kiss I would just get him into the kitchen.
Sadly Cole returned this time with a shirt covering his flawless torso and a pair of cargo shorts. How I missed the sight of his glorious tan muscles already.
"Hey sorry about that, if that was kind of awkward. I don't really know what possessed me to do that" He stumbled over his own words apologizing for his actions
I giggled and shook my head finishing up the dishes and turning off the water drying my hands.
"I'm gonna get ready and then head into town by myself for the day. Care to join, you haven't been out really the three weeks you've been here" I asked
The kid deserves my kindness since he saved my ass from a major ass whipping from my dad.
He gave a small genuine smile that barely showed his bottom teeth but it was a smile instead of his classic playboy smirk. Following his smile came a nod sending his slightly messy hair bobbing.
"Yeah that would be cool, show me around...uhm" he thought having forgot our towns name.
"Weedsport" I called as I ran up the stairs. A small laugh at his struggle to remember the town he once tried to escape.
I went to my closet having showered this morning. Grabbing a simple pair of high waisted short, a loose grey tank top and a black laced bralette.
Slipping the clothing onto my body I pulled my hair out of its messy bun and let it hang wavy around my shoulders. Applying the minimum amount of makeup before slipping into my combat boots.
Grabbing my keys, bag and phone I patterned down the steps and saw him waiting by the door.
"Ready?" He questioned as he opened the door allowing me out first.
Unlocking my car I hoped in and turned it on. Waiting for him to get in and close the door. Turning on my radio to have Stevie Wonder blast through my speakers, hearing a chuckle come from Cole.
"What?" I asked glancing over at him when we had reached the stoplight leading into the village.
"I never pegged you as a Stevie Wonder person" he said "that's all" he added as an afterthought.
The drive into town mostly consisted of us arguing who was better Stevie Wonder or Billy Joel.
Once we had reached the parking garage at the large outlet mall I rolled my eyes.
"New York State of Mind is way better then Isn't She Lovely" Cole argued
I laughed "Well Superstition is better then Tiny Dancer" I argued stopping dead in my tracks at the sight walking to me.
So I did the first rational thing I could think of. I grabbed Cole and pulled his lips into mine.
