Rachael was observing quitely, Mapi and Mariam deep asleep. Like an earthquake couldn't wake them up. This was a golden moment for Rachael, now was the chance to sneak out. Desperately wanting to explore the wilds. Sneaking out of bed and quietly slithering like a snake. Slowly lifting one foot after another, making no noise like a cat.
Rachael opens the curtain, entering the same peaceful asleep world. Yet peace was not on their mind, but rather mischief. For they wanted to explore the island, to see what other wonders it held. Quietly they dig into their dress, pulling out something interesting. A bulky journal, memorabilia from the ship, one of the only things to even survive. Belonging to their past-father, containing many species and biological notes.
While the ship was still there, they would read it. Studying and learning about the various animals of the earth. Luckily it was saved, but Rachael feared it would hurt their sister. Unleashing bad thoughts upon her, so it was best to keep it a secret. Plus this gives them a chance to name some creatures! Maybe proving that they can be successful, without being a "perfect" daughter.
But there was a complication, if Rachael dared to leave. The trail back home would disappear, so there was a need for a path home.... Approaching the brush and bumping into it. The solution was found, the tree closest to their home featured a mated pair of birds. One tall with a giant maple like crest with pulsing red glow, the other small with barely any crest. That was their ticket, just have to let them know how to return home. So they just simply grabbed some fruits, feeding these birds. Letting them know they have to lead them home.
Once fed Rachael tanked them, grabbed a torch off the porch. Struck it against a rock to light it up, then head deep into the forest. Diving head first into a strange new realm, as the gentle leaves of the growth stroked them. The torch gives off a radiant shield of light, protecting against terrors of the forest.
Heading deep into the forest, rocks were jagged and eyes glown. Strange mammals and fuzzy lizard-like organisms stare them down. Little birds and rats scour around, looking for scraps and seeds. The leaves crackled under Rachel's feet as the long snakes crawled away. Though Rachael paid little care to the creatures of the woods. Checking the journal to see what these organisms might've been.
Bumbling around, checking the illustrations to see if they could match up. Yet none of the fauna present resembled the art. Totally alien to what appears to be knowledge itself, but Rachael continues the pursuit. Spotting weird alien creatures of the night, strangely resembling that of fantastical beings. Demons, dragons, spirits and faes, it was like they existed here...
Their feet were getting sore, but these dirty old shoes didn't cut it. Unbuckling it Rachael threw them aside, feeling the cool dirt between her toes. With that their spirit felt like a free bird, not a shackle of normality present. The rushing of euphoria overtook Rachael, as they put the book back in their dress. Dropping the torch, she stomps on it. Extinguishing it's life force, causing the warm yellow light to fade away. The mystical blue hues crept back in, revealing the true secrets of the forest.
The dark forest blew up in lights! Beautiful cyan hues from fruits and fungi shone, while the strange fuzzy organisms' feathers waved with teal. As the sky above shone with colors no artists could paint, swirling and swimming. Stars dotting it in such chaos, yet in such beauty. Suddenly one of the stars seemed to close in, landing on their nose revealing itself. For it was a firefly that shone white.
Giggling and laughing, spinning and fluttering her dress around.Kicking their feet in the air, with the breeze in their hair. Though as Rachael danced and pranced, tired they leaned on what seemed to be a tree. Except it was oddly fluffy and soft, looking up Rachael saw it's true form... It was a big bird! A giant one on stilted legs, as it moved its head towards them. Showing off it's big curved beak and fuzzy giant mane. Opening its mouth to reveal a faint red glow.
