It turns out Sapnap and Dream are essentially connected at the hip, so as all of their schedules loosen up due to the coming winter break, Karl and George spend more time with Dream, and, to Karl's utter horror, Sapnap.

And yes, Karl thought Sapnap was a jerk the first time they met, but now Karl can't stand him. He doesn't know how Dream's been friends with him so long, though it probably helps that Sapnap isn't teasing Dream every minute of every day.

One time, Karl is forced to attend a horror movie with George, and in no surprise, Sapnap and Dream are there too. Since it's supposed to be a date, Dream and George are quick to snag the seats closest to the middle next to each other, leaving Karl isolated on the aisle seat, with only Sapnap to his right for company.

Luckily, it's a movie, so even with Karl's apprehension with the horror part of it, he doesn't have to interact with Sapnap, so he takes it as a win. Until, of course, Sapnap stretches and yawns, and when he puts his arm pack down, it is hogging not only his armrest but Karl's too.

Karl glares at Sapnap, but the man doesn't notice, too immersed in the chase that is happening on screen to notice Karl glaring daggers at him from his side. Karl tries to shove Sapnap's elbow off with his own but is met with a somewhat quizzical expression and an elbow that doesn't budge. And Karl sits, the whole two hours of this shitty overrated movie, with his right arm clamped to his side, uncomfortable as hell.

At one point, the only ok part of the movie, he later admits, there is a jumpscare, and well, Karl jumps, then immediately cringes as he hears a snickering at his side. Apparently, Sapnap didn't jump, and now is laughing at Karl for doing what the movie wanted him to do. He quickly flicks Sapnap off, before returning his attention to the movie.

He feels Sapnap's eyes on him and regrettably turns to see the man watching him impenitently. Once they lock eyes, Sapnap grins and flicks Karl off back, turning around with a smug grin on his face, and Karl huffs at the pure immatureness this man seems to radiate.

He'll admit it, at first, he thought Sapnap could have been his match, it was convenient, that his list fits Sapnap look-wise but as Karl spends more time with him, he regretted not seeing the insufferable jackass side of him right away.

He can't help himself, whispering "Imagine being the shortest one in the group," as they exit the movie theater right in Sapnap's ear, to see his ears heat up, especially when George is clearly shorter, even by a bit, is too entertaining. Sapnap glares at him, and Karl smiles innocently back.

He catches George rolling his eyes at him, but Karl does not want to know what that all-knowing look he had on means, not one bit.

Another time, Karl realizes Sapnap is in his computer class, and of course, Sapnap is the one to volunteer to help Karl with a bit of code he just can't seem to get, and after a whole half an hour of small insults, Karl's mostly having to do with heights, and Sapnap's varying, but mostly coming back to Karl's tousled hair at the moment, how it looks so unkept that there was no way he had combed it in the last year.

At one point, Sapnap moves a taunting hand to ruffle his hair in it, and Karl slaps his hand out of the way.

"Ow," Sapnap whines, "that burns."

"Just teach me how to do the code." Karl sighs, wishing he could quit the class all together.

And Sapnap performs it first try effortlessly, and Karl hears a low whistle from behind them. "Wow, Nick, you're on fire!" Their teacher applauds, reaching over and giving him a pat on the back before leaving to look over others.

Karl rolls his eyes. "If you were on fire, and I had a glass of water on me, I would drink it."

He waits, almost smugly, for the offended glance that is sure to come, but all he hears is a snort, no, a laugh, and looks up indignantly to see Sapnap close to tears.

"Where did you find that, Reddit?" He asks with a chortle, before ruffling Karl's hair and walking out of the classroom just as it turns 2:30, and Karl sits there because even if he did stumble upon it after scrolling on Reddit for so long he wasn't sure what he was doing at that point, that had nothing to do with it. The insult was good, he decides shrilly, Sapnap is just too scared to admit it.

That night he barely sleeps at all, scrolling through and finding the best insults possibly, because he'll be damned if Sapnap laughs at him one. more. time.
