It's Christmas Eve, and they are all tired as Hell, but instead of going home to sleep like normal people, Sapnap complains he's thirsty and the next thing they know, he is running alone into the nearest Walmart while Dream and George nearly fall asleep on each other and Karl sits uncomfortably in the passenger seat.

Sapnap comes out a few minutes later, a bag in his right hand and his phone in his left. He gets into the driver's seat and tosses back an iced tea for George and a Gatorade for Dream. He hands Karl a white monster, and Karl quietly grabs it, staring at him.

"Thanks," he mumbles, and Sapnap shoots him a smirk.

"You looked like you needed it," Karl scoffs and shoves Sapnap with his arm, apparently waking up the couple in the back enough for them to also mutter a thanks to Sap.

When they finally return home, it's past three in the morning, and Karl and George are practically falling asleep on each other as they try to fumble for the keys to their dorm.

Karl collapses on the couch, too tired to walk the few steps to his bed, and George apparently had the same mindset, because he pushes Karl up to a sort of sitting position and lays down on his side, his legs crossing over to Karl's territory daringly.

"Y'know, Sap bought you a monster today," George mumbles, and Karl tries to get as comfortable as possible in the way too small to share the couch.

"So?" Karl mumbles, his eyelids, drooping.

Wasn't that one of the items on your list?" George asks, chuckling silently as Karl stays quiet. "Number two: he has to buy me Monsters, or something?"

"It doesn't count." Karl protests half-heartedly. "Nick is a jerk, spending two bucks on a drink won't change that."

"Wanna know what I think?" George asks, and honestly, Karl doesn't, but he says nothing, allows George to have his five minutes of wisdom.

"I think you like him, a lot," George slurs, "Remember that night?"

"What night?" Karl asks, allowing his eyes to close.

"I guess you don't. Don't worry 'arl, he looks at you like your the only person in the entire world."

"He hates me," Karl says, feeling himself slip off into sleep.

"He loves you," George finishes, "So much he asked me earlier what your favorite Monster flavor was," but Karl is asleep before he can continue, and George soon follows suit.

The next morning, Karl doesn't mention their conversation at all but George doesn't say anything, he is used to Karl forgetting like changing moments like these.
