I crouched next to a group of teenagers who were sitting on a bench in a seaside town, watching the sunset.

- I know I'm dreaming. Can I ask one question? I said.

- Yes, of course.

- Is a new era coming soon? (My wife had asked this question the day before, a question from the audience, so to speak.)

- Relax man! Very soon, maybe one of these days or next week.

I smiled to myself. The answer didn't strike me as a casual response, but rather as if it was a smokescreen to keep me from worrying about these things.

I had only very little energy left because I had been consciously walking around in this dream before this conversation for a while. I was pretty tired.

They told me something else, but I quickly lost track of what they were saying, and I no longer had the energy to listen. I just sat down next to them. Exhaustion was getting the better of me, I could only see with tunnel vision, similar to how your vision narrows when your blood pressure is too high. As I strained to listen to their voices one last time, they walked up to me and held me in an embrace. Completely helpless, I felt their warmth and affection. These snovids, how strange, they were almost like family to me already.

Inthat final minute, I just sat and took note of my bodily sensations. I couldnot even see, now that all my energy had left me. The only thought coursing through me was thatit all felt incredibly real. It was as though I had tried to squeeze intoanother world, as real as my own. Lacking the strength to overcome the barriercompletely, however, I had been cast back at every step. Still, it's nice tohave a place where someone knows you and is expecting your arrival...
