chapter 4: Creature Outside

When I woke up from my nap Guardian was standing on my chest licking my face with my mom standing at my door "Hun, time to come eat dinner" she said to me as I threw my legs over the side of my bed and headed down stairs
At the dinner table was sitting William and my mom with Guardian scratching at her legs. All through dinner I did not say a word, no one did really not even mom. After I ate dinner I walked to my room and William followed me as mom cleaned up. As I enter my room William comes in and shuts the door. "Tell me" I said
"Tell you what?"
"You know what I mean William."
"What do you want to know?" he asked me
"Just tell me what does Ethan have to do with me and how does he know where we live."
"I can't say but I will say he is a threat to you and even though he may not mean it he will harm you in many ways if you don't stay away from him."
"Dang it William stop speaking in riddles!"
He said nothing as he turned and left. After William left I turned and looked out my window only to see cyan eyes. I think to myself what the heck, why does he keep following me? First the mall, then the school, then the bus, now here. What is he a stalker! I thought about that right before William rushes in and I asked him franticly "What the heck is going on why does he keep appearing like this?" he glances at the eyes then they vanished into thin air "look, like I have been saying, you will find out just give it time and stay away from him no matter what and if you have no choice do not look or talk to him understood!" he said that in the same tone as our father during a hurricane then turned and ran out of my room only to be seen again from outside my window. This time when I looked outside my window instead of just seeing cyan eyes I now saw cyan and gold eyes. After about five minutes the cyan eyes vanished for good but when I looked at the gold ones they now looked like a k'9's eyes more than human. Before I became too overwhelmed I laid down on my bed for several hours before I went to sleep thinking about what was going on, why I should stay away, and why was William so paranoid. When I finally went to sleep I had a familiar dream but different at the same time. I was fighting back to back with Ethan as I held a crow bar in my hands.
"Ethan what do I do!"
"Just like your training, aim for the eyes with the rounded part and the middle of the head with the sharp part." He said with confidence as he launched a silver arrow into the middle of the head of one of the giant creatures dissolving it into golden powder. When I turned around one of the creatures launched itself at me so I did just as Ethan said, I hit its eyes with the rounded part of the crowbar and the middle of the head with the sharp part. At impacted it fell limp. I examined it extremely shocked when something pushed me down and put pressure on my back. The pressure felt like several knives tearing into my skin all at once. After a few seconds passed by my arms started to sting and my feet went numb when the pressure was removed. Then I felt something small and thin poke into my neck but it did not bother me because the pain I just witnessed was even more severe and painful. A second or three after I felt the little poke in my neck a cool wave washed over me and I blacked out. When I awoke I was in a room full of people talking. In the room I saw Ethan, William, and Mr. Keys. It really confused me when I saw my brother there but I nearly flipped out when I saw my gym teacher Mr. Keys. "How are you feeling Ashton?" Ethan asked me. William glared at him. Ethan turned and looked at William "Come on Shadow."
"Ethan will you shut up she doesn't know yet" mumbled William
"Well don't you think it's time to change that?"
"No I don't"
"Come on she has been attacked she deserves to know."
"No she is my little sister I will not curse her with what I have." William Shouted
"William you don't know if she does or not no one does!" Ethan now shouting "You may be right but I'm not taking my chances!"
"William come on dude tell her already"
"No I will not tell her not now, not later, probably not ever" William shouting at the top of his lungs "Fine if you won't I will" Ethan said that now calming down "Ethan if you dare talk to her or tell her anything I will have your head hanging on my wall!" threatened William. A girl from the corner now getting into the argument "guys shut your snouts or ill muzzle you myself" Ethan and William now shutting up "Thank you" said the girl as Mr. Keys cleared his throat "William he is right you don't know if she has the curse or not, and she has been attacked she could have it now if she didn't then."
"Look Ethan said he got to her in time he could see her blood turn purple after he injected her with the antidote."
"Ok I believe you but I'm just preparing you for the worst" Mr. Keys said putting his hand on Williams shoulder.
"The worst will not happen, not while I'm around!" William shouted
"You are not glued to her, and you can't be next to her 24/7" Said Ethan
"Well you're right but even though I'm not around it will not happen. Understood." Called William above the room.
"Whatever can I at least talk to her?" Said Ethan.
"No because I don't trust you with her." William replied.
"Come on it would help her if she was at least friends with someone who can truly protect her while you're gone."
"You may be right but still." William replied with a determined tone
"He's right William." said Mr. Keys
"Alright fine you can talk to her but do not tell her anything." William said when everything went black
