I was being carried to my room when I woke, my mother into hers. I was in major pain. The strength it took to walk into the room to see mom back in Lycanthrope Industries took almost everything away from me. My entire body ached from being tortured. I still haven't stopped shaking from the medicine. I haven't felt the urges Ethan had said that I would have. Though in a great deal of pain I couldn't help but be excited to be a werewolf. I wondered what would look like. Would I be unique? Would I have bright green eyes like my natural ones? Would I inherit anything from my creator Ethan? It wasn't long before I drifted off after being put into my room.
Meanwhile downstairs everyone in the pack was having a meeting. Mr. Slane -it was going to take a while to remember his wolf name let alone everyone else's- was talking. "To start this meeting with a boom I would like to thank everyone for rescuing Ashton and her mom." Everyone remained silent. "As we all know Ashton's mom Michelle has been missing for several weeks, Wreckage, (Mr. Keys) is in their room examining them both for the estimated amount of damage done. We know that Ashton was severally injured and was injected with the 'WWMV' or as some of you may know as the 'Werewolf Murder Venom. Therefore causing Ethan to change her. And son may I congratulate you on controlling yourself."
Ethan didn't smile but she did say thank you for the compliment.
"Because of the state that they are both in physically, they will need to be watched nearly 24/7 so we will take shifts. Each shift will last two hours and will be done by partners. One of the two will watch Michelle and the other will watch Ashton. Understood?"
They all nodded. "Yes sir."
"Ok good, now pair up." It took a minute or two before everyone had a partner and because it was an odd number of people Mr. Slane -Ryder, dang it! - volunteered to be the fetcher. The fetcher was the person who got the things the people on guard or watcher needed.
"I call William!" Savannah shouted above the crowd claiming him as her partner. Adam paired up with Jayce, Jamey paired up with Mr. Keys, and Ian and Ethan paired up.
"Does everyone have a partner?" Ryder -finally I got it! - asked.
"Yes sir." Everyone replied.
"Ok good, Shadow and MoonStone you have first shift, Vengeful and Frostbite you have second, Aiden and Wreckage you have third, and River and Killer you have final shift."
"Yes sir." Everyone replied again.
Ethan did not look happy that he had final shift but he dealt with it.

I heard William come into my room after the meeting but I was too tired and weak to respond. He pulled a chair up to the side of my bed waited. Half way into his shift Ryder came in and gave William a bottle of water and a sandwich. I fell back asleep before he left. I heard my bedroom door opening and closing several times. Most of the night I slept soundly, no dreams intruded, for a while at least. Around four o'clock I didn't know whose shift it was, I had a bad dream. No, not a bad dream a nightmare.

I was surrounded by wolves with red eyes. Alone in the middle of a forest. They were enclosing in on me. Panicked I looked down to the ground and saw white paws. I looked as far up on the legs as I could. They connected to... me. They were my paws. I must have been distracted for a while because something launched itself on to my back. The unexpected large amount of weight made me collapse. I tried to regain awareness of my surroundings but before I could, I felt something bite in my spinal cord. The pain was heavy. I howled-literally- next I felt another bite in my front left leg, and another in my neck. The pain was horrifying. It stung like bees, felt like knives, and spread like a stampede. I could hear my skin being ripped-
"Ashton! Ashton wake up!" Ethan and William standing over me, Ethan shaking me gently. I awoke with a scream. The pain still haunted me. "It's ok babygirl you're alright I'm here now." He said stroking my hair.
"Wait what!" William growled. He did not sound happy. Ethan cursed under his breath.
"William drop it." I commanded in my weak state of being.
"The hell I will!" He yelled "Did you not just hear him, he called you babygirl."
"And he's right." I tried to yell back.
"Wait what!" He said enraged now. "You..." He didn't finish his sentence he just launched himself at Ethan. They hit the ground. William began to punch. "Ashton is off limits to you!" Ethan threw a punch and tossed him off of him.
"Guys stop!" I rasped
"Says who? You don't have that control over her!" He tumbled onto William pinning him down.
"Guys please stop!"
"I said so, my mom is probably on her death bed and our dad ran off, and someone has to protect her!"
Angry, myself now I yelled at them "First of all, William, I don't need protection and second of all, you need to stop fighting."
William looked at me. "The-" Ryder busted into the room.
"What is going on up here?" he looked and saw Ethan and William pinning each other down. "Ok that's enough you two." He walked over and separated them. "What the heck is going on?" He looked between William and Ethan.
"Your son called my sister babygirl." He snarled.
Ryder looked stunned and snapped his head over to Ethan. "Is this true?"
Ethan kept his eyes and head low as he clenched his jaws together. Ryder looked over to me. I avoided eye contact. He shook his head. "We will deal with this later. You two down stairs, your shift's over son." and he pushed both of them out the room. Aiden had taken Ethan's place. He tried to ask me questions but I pretended to be asleep.
When daylight came a few hours later William, Ryder, and Wreckage all piled into my room. William was sitting in a chair in the corner of my room. Wreckage and Ryder remained standing. "I really hate to say this, but it has to be said." Wreckage announced. "Your mom was given werewolf venom."
I was confused but William clearly wasn't. "Which kind? WWMV or WWTV."
Ryder sighed, "I'm afraid it is WWMV."
William's tense body loosened. "Umm hello newborn pup here." I said trying to get their attention. "You're forgetting that I don't know everything there is to werewolf kind you know."
They looked at me. Ryder stepped up. "WWTV is transformation venom, WWMV is... werewolf murder venom."
Shocked I said "And my mom has the murder venom?" he nodded. "Then why can't you change her like you did me there has to be a way to save her."
Wreckage stepped up now. "WWMV is a quick killer. It takes four days to take effect, five days to reach the no cure point, and ten days to kill." He cleared his throat. "The bite that administrated the venom looked about seven days old. Past the no cure point."
"No..." I buried my head in my hands and started to weep.
"Well... there is some good news." William and I both looked at him. "When I ran a blood test I found extremely slight traces of werewolf blood in her. It was enough to extend to kill time but not enough to save her completely."
I looked at him with harsh eyes. "How is that good news, my mom is still going to die?"
"It means because of the werewolf blood we found, gives her body a little bit of extra fighting time."
William now. "Well if it extends her fighting time how much longer will she live?"
"With the extended times it would be six days to take effect, seven days to the no cure point and 15 days to kill."
"Well that extends her death days by what? Five days. So now she has eight days to live?"
I spent the next few days in my room. I was hit, and I was hit hard. It's not every day you're told that your mom was going to die. The hardest part was trying to decide if you're going to tell her, and if so how and when. Ethan tried to come in and talk, but of course William refused to let him through. Ryder called my school and said that my mom and I had been in a car accident and was at the hospital. William and Ryder had also discussed that William would take custody over me once my mother passed. He'd be graduating this year so Ryder thought it appropriate. He would have graduated last year but he was held back in the tenth grade.
