Me and Flynn marched down to Julies moms studio. Julie was sat at the piano as we walked in, she looked..... happier? well happier than what she was yesterday. "Are you guys ok?" she asked us curiously with a smile plastered across her lips. "uh are you?" I asked back "yeah... I-" Flynn interrupted "Carlos told us you'd be out here. And NO IM NOT OK. You just got kicked out of music! Me and Summers were up all night thinking about what we were going to say to you" "Julie you know how much music means to your mom. She would've wanted you to stay in music, with you passion.... Me and Flynn have been up and honestly whileshewasdrinkingsevensodasihadatleast10coffees-" "Woah can I talk now? I just played piano and sang again." Me and Flynn's heads shot up immediately "WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY SO?" We said In unison. "Well I was trying and then you're caffeine hit" Me and Flynn high fived.... we all went silent
"what made you play again?" Flynn asked "I found this song my mom wrote" she said moving the pages on top of the piano over to us so we could see "wow" Flynn said taking a look at the page before passing it to me "I know. I was so afraid to play it... anything involving music reminds me of her. and then I woke up this morning, realising that's why I should play it...to keep her memory alive" I was reading the notes on the page "This is beautiful" I muttered "We need to tell Mrs Harrison you can play again, so you can stay in school and our lives WON'T be the sad picture I just painted for you" we all laughed and began walking to the door "double trouble lives again" Flynn shouted "not our band name... Besides we can't leave Jules out" Julie said putting her arm around my shoulder as I smiled at her "yeah... not gonna happen, I'm not a band person" I stated chuckling "manager?" Julie asked "of course!" We got out and Julie was closing the door behind her. "OH HEY!" me and Flynn turned around to see Julie staring at literally nothing...."Lets Hustle!" She says making her way towards us as she brings her arms forward. we walk along and Julie stops and waves.....she waves literally at the door. this day... has been STRANGE and we aren't even in school yet.
We headed straight for the music room as soon as we got through the gates of hell.... Miss Harrison was setting up "Julie just played the piano AND SANG" I said to her and she looked at us.... then sighed. "Julie...I think It's wonderful that you sang again....I've prayed for this moment for almost a year. But It's too late." Flynn tries convincing her by saying "But what if you just hear her play? you know she's amazing" "It Wouldn't matter, a new student starts tomorrow." she sighs before continuing "there's only--" "so many spots, and if I font participate I'm out...I know" Julie interrupts with a hint of sadness in her voice "I did everything I could to keep you here this year...But Principle Lessa was very clear that yesterday was your last chance. You'll have to reapply next semester" The bell rings and that was it. We had to be going our separate ways, I didn't want to say this but....I don't believe there is any hope of Julie getting back into this programme until next semester.
later that day.
I decided to see how Julie was so I took it upon myself to walk to her house....which was literally across the street but anyways. exercise am I right? I knocked on the door and her dad opened. "She's In the studio go ahead." I was outside the studio and heard her talking "Hey J?" I called out for her she looked out and saw me standing there "Oh hey Summers" she freezes in place...I walk inside and see a drum kit that wasn't there earlier "Jeez nice drums" I said pointing to them
Alex's POV:
A voice from outside called and them came in... It was the guy with Julie and the other girl earlier. I didn't actually realise I was staring at him until Luke clicked his fingers in my face then whispered "get back to reality dummy." He says "yeah the last time I checked.... THIS. ISN'T. REALITY. LUKE!" I shouted forgetting that what I did is probably going to cause Julie to mentally curse herself.
Jules POV:
"So I was thinking of learning a song. It has three verses and that means that me, you and Flynn can take one each then harmonise for the chorus" I said and Julie nodded her head "What happened to you not wanting to be in a-" She quickly turned her head and pulled an angry face "band" she finished her sentence from earlier turning around to face me again... I'm 23, and my folks are getting old I know they don't have forever and I'm scared to be alone So I'm thankful for my sister, even though sometimes we fight When high school wasn't easy, she's the reason I survived I know she'd never leave me and I hate to see her cry
