Your P.O.V.
Another day, another set of chores to fulfill.
"Alastair had been doing more work than usual, I'm sorry mahal but you're gonna have to do his chores as well." Mama said, kissing my forehead.
"No problem mama! I'll do as much as I can. I'll start with groceries." I said taking mama's note, and as soon as I said that, the kids perk up. All 6 immediately went and started to ask to buy some stuff, I laughed. "I need to finish this grocery list first. Then I'll buy whatever all of you need."
"But I really need some glue to finish my structure!" Estrella exclaim. "And so that the twins won't come and mess it up again."
"Oh come on, that can wait! I need a new string for my guitar because someone snip it off to 'use' as an archery string." Luciano said, glaring at Miko.
"For the record, it works perfectly!" Miko exclaim.
"We also lost all of our art tape because some girl here thought it can help hold the structure!" Marisol exclaim, glaring at Estrella.
"That's why it's called art tape, it's used as decorations on paper!!" Marcelo exclaim. I was writing it all down.
"Okay everyone, your sister can put all of that later! First off we need food for lunch, dinner, and again for the rest of the week!" Mama exclaim, and I laugh.
"Don't worry mama, I got this covered. I'll be back in a few hours." I said, and was about to go out but got stopped by Lyka.
"Can I come with you?" Lyka ask politely, I smiled.
"I'm sorry Yumi, if one goes, everyone needs to go then. Do you want anything to buy?" I ask, patting her head. She shakes her head.
"Okay, be careful!" She exclaim and I went out.
"I will don't worry." I said closing the door. Being the second eldest of 8 siblings is hard, especially since the actual eldest is always locked in his room, and have been trying more medicine. I bought all of the groceries I need, greeting people I always see every day except...
"Well well, you look busy." That boy said, I roll my eyes.
"I have mouths to feed Camilo. Why are you even here anyway?" I ask, looking at the list.
"Unlike you Güevón, I help with the town." He said, and I laugh.
"The town's babysitter." I said and he stopped.
"Well at least I actually help people! Plus new mom's are the ones that needed a break a most." He said, I roll my eyes.
'Imagine taking care of 7 siblings.' I thought.
"Hola (Y/n)! Is Estrella coming out today?" Emilia ask, one of Estrella's best friends.
"Mhm! She's gonna be out after lunch. You can hang out at our rooftop, I'll bake you girls some brownies." I said and her face lit up.
"I'll look forward to it! See you guys later!" Emilia exclaim as I wave goodbye.
"Well it's not surprising your sister's more popular than you." Camilo said and I laugh.
"I'm equally as 'popular', or whatever you call it. Besides I think I have an admirer beside me who won't stop leaving me alone." I said and he roll his eyes, sticking his tongue out.
"I'll be meeting Satan himself if that happens. Oh wait! He's already to my left." Camilo said with that smirk. I scoff and pulled him in front of me, to which promptly saving him from the running donkeys.
"I don't think Satan would do that boy, and if I were in your shoes Madrigal, I'd be running to do my chores or else I'd get another lecture with your Abuela. No need to thank me." I said, returning the smirk before he just remembered. I flipped my hair before parting ways with him to buy what my siblings need.
"Arts store... Here. I need more paint anyways..." I mutter to myself.
"Ah! (Y/n) Magindara! Here to buy a refill?" Señor Diego ask, leaning at the counter.
"Yep, I'm also gonna get some glue, and a set of those art tape." I said, and he grab them.
"Sibling feuds again I see?" Señor Diego said, he's the only one out of the whole town that knew I was related to my well three well known siblings, Marisol, Marcelo, and Miko, the twins are known for causing light hearted troubles, and would end up in a fit of laughter, and Miko being everywhere, everyone thought at first that he was a new member of the Madrigals and they thought his gift was either Super speed or Teleportation, he was also known for being really active. For some reason, the three never told their last name or what family they came from.
"I also see you're on grocery duty. Hey, I never see your brother Alastair anymore?" Señor Diego ask, as he starts to bag up the items and I took out my wallet.
"Yeah, he's more busy with his works than usual. I don't know what he's working on, but the last I remember was some sort of remedy." I said about to pay.
"Oh no no no. This is on the house!" Señor Diego said, stopping me.
"What.. That's a lot though! It's expensive and-" "(Y/n), you are my most frequent customer, not a year goes by without me not seeing you in my shop. I also know how hard it is being an older sister to kids, so take this, as a small gift from me, and as a thank you for always coming into my shop." Señor Diego said, and pats my head. I look at the paper bag and sighed.
"Just this once. Next time I'm paying double." I said and he laugh.
"If you do that I won't let you in my store again." He said and I groan, we have this father daughter type of relationship, he became one of my dad's closest friends before he died. I also always come to him if ever I'm too overwhelmed and stressed and don't want to bother my mother. I went out, thanking him and bought the guitar string, judging by what Luci said, it must be an E string. I also bought a new archery bow, it was pricey, but Miko had that since 5, a change wouldn't hurt. I bought Lyka some hair pins and made my way back.. The bag being super heavy.
"I'm back! Sorry I took long!" I exclaim.
"We thought you had gotten lost or something." Estrella said, giggling.
"Well someone did however stall me some time." I said, and went to the kitchen. "I also bought everyone was they need." I said and immediately cheers erupted.
"Mahal you didn't have to-" "You all are so noisy." Well. Look who finally took a break. We turn to Alastair with a grumpy look.
"Ah! Ambrosio! I've made-" "I know. I'm not blind. Now give me those so I can continue with my work." Alastair snapped. I turn to him with a glare and he just ignore me, harshly grabbing the plate from my mama's hand and went back upstairs.
"I'm gonna have a talk with him later. Mama don't let him step all over you.." I said and she sighs.
"He's still grieving anak, don't worry... It was my fault that I didn't tell any of you earlier about your father's sickness. You all were so young..." Mama said and I just sigh.
"Well, you better get to cooking, I'll be doing my chores." I said and flash her a smile before walking out of the kitchen.
For some reason, Alastair's demeanor changed ever since papa's passing. The two were close anyways, and Mama didn't tell us about it earlier cause she was right. He was 15, I was 10, Estrella was 8, Marisol and Marcelo are 6, Luciano was 5, Miko was 4, and Lyka wasn't even born yet. We were young but we had to let go of the past sooner or later.
