Ryu's POV:
I had gotten a text from Jisung asking me to go see the Stray Kids when I got out of work. Curious about what was going on that they would ask Jisung to tell me to come by, I asked Lee Know what time would be a good time to drop in. He told me they were calling it an early night so they'd be back at their dorm by nine. I let him know I'd be by after that.
So, at 9:15 I was standing outside the Stray Kids dorm, trying to figure out what was going on. Internally, I was debating if I should flake on them and go home to Jisung instead, but I couldn't guarantee he'd be home from work. Instead, I took a deep breath and rang the bell. Hyunjin came and opened the door, carrying me upstairs on his back after smiling at me. After everyone had a chance to say hello to me, we all sat down.
"What was this about? And why did you call Jisung instead of me to get me over here?" I asked them, getting straight to the point.
Changbin sighed.
"Ryu, the eight of us really messed up with you and it helped Woojin get to you," he started. "We all wanted to apologize to you for that. I wanted to apologize for what happened to us that you felt you couldn't trust me the same as you did before we dated."
"I don't want to talk about Woojin, guys. If that's all you guys wanted to see me for, I think I'm gonna go home and we can talk another day," I started.
"Stop it, Ryung-gi!" Lee Know exclaimed, which made me stop in my tracks since Lee Know almost raised his voice at me. "There's more."
"What do you mean?" I asked, not sure I wanted to know what was going to be said.
"You didn't want to talk about what we had noticed between the two of you, so we didn't know for sure what was going on," Jeongin continued.
"But all eight of us knew exactly what kind of monster Kim Woojin could be," Bang Chan said.
"We were his first victims, Ryu," Felix said, his voice cracking.
"He came after all of us. Felix and I.N were getting visibly sick. Han couldn't perform because of the stress. The rest of us... the bruises were getting harder to hide, even with makeup," Hyunjin explained.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked nervously.
"Because we're worried about you, Ryu," Seungmin replied.
"We know that you're not good about opening up about things that are scaring you, like Woojin and your teacher from when you were a kid," Changbin continued.
"Ryu-ah, the eight of us, we love you and we want you to talk to someone about what you've gone through. Jisung already told us what happened when you were younger and because of it you won't go see a shrink. So, the eight of us want to be the ones you talk to about this, not so we can be your therapists, but because we've been through it, too, and understand. This way you can talk to us, knowing it's not some random shrink talking out their ass," Han told her.
"Not only that," Lee Know started. "Because JYP released him on the deal that we would have creative freedom on our music after, we're not allowed to go public with this. Legally, we had to let Woojin walk away without any consequences because that's what the company wanted. He'll never pay for what he did to the eight of us. We know his trial hasn't happened yet, but the only reason things went as far as they did is because when JYP finally realized how dangerous he was to the eight of us, they released him in a way that nobody would be able to find out how dangerous he really was, he was free to prey on anyone he wanted."
"Is that why all of you at JYP tried to prevent me from being alone with him?" I asked.
"Yes," Bang Chan replied. "Us, Got7, Day6, 2PM, the others didn't know exactly what was going on with us, but they knew something was off with Woojin and because of it, none of us wanted any females, not just you, but even the female trainees and artists, left alone with him. We didn't trust that they'd be safe around him."
