**Audrey's P.O.V**

-You have to be kidding me! - Rob's voice came screaming from the other end of the line.-Better believe it buddy! I'm still in denial myself. - I smiled as I still tried to convince myself that this really happened. I pace around my new and very empty apartment, phone still pressed to my ear. I am in L.A! I am starting this new job in two weeks. The problem is, I'm building everything from scratch here. The only person I know, at least that I can consider a friend, is in Ohio, and you know what's funny? I've never even met him in person. He's kind of a pen friend that goes way back to my teen years. Yep, my buddy Rob, who I just gave the news to that I am in L.A. -Listen love, I will give Gina the news when she gets home and we'll fly there to meet you as soon as we can. I don't want you coming to the States and feel like you have no one. I know how devastating that can be. - He sighed.I swear he always knew what I was thinking and what to say to make me feel better.-Rob, it's not...-Bullshit! – His voice interrupted me.-Plus, we've been planning this for what, 10 years? 12? I lost count of how many times we hoped you'd come and see us. Now you finally have, and we are definitely coming to see you.I give up. If this man sets his mind to something there's no discussing it.-Ok, ok, you win. Come over whenever you guys can. Mi casa, su casa.- I laughed, as trying not to give him that sad vibe, but deep inside I felt relieved he wanted to come visit. I could definitely use a friend.-Good! - He says in a serious tone-Good! - I repeat mimicking his tone.We both laugh for a while and say our goodbyes, so that I can get back to unpacking. I take a glance around my apartment, which is empty and cold and uninviting. I don't even have where to put my stuff, so why bother unpacking?Ugh! When are these guys bringing my furniture? I might as well sleep on the floor tonight.I sit on the floor and type a quick text to my mom letting her know I'm ok, since she's been on my ass all day, asking how I'm feeling. She knows how much I've wanted this my whole life, but how much it hurt when that job offer came in the most inappropriate moment in my life. I lay on my back and keep myself busy on my phone, while listening to the sound of a drowned music coming from somewhere around me.**Drew's P.O.V**Evanescence are touring again. Wow, are they still alive?! Mayday Parade have a full magazine and t-shirt pack. I keep scrolling mindlessly in my phone.-Are you planning on redecorating our apartment without telling me?! - D.D walks in, throwing his jacket carelessly on the couch, next to where I'm sitting. With the headache I'm sporting today, his loud voice is so very NOT welcome.I raise my eyes from the phone, giving him a weird look. What the hell is he talking about?!-My apartment and no. What makes you think...-These guys! - He interrupts me, pointing to the front door. A tall guy is standing there with some papers in his hands. He has some king of a work uniform.-And the truck downstairs. - D.D finishes, giving me a "duh" face, like what he's talking about is obvious, which is not.I get up from the chair and walk to the guy.-Hi! How can I help you?-Sorry man, but we're here to deliver the furniture you requested. I know it's late and all, but...-What furniture?! – I ask beyond confused. If this is a prank D.D chose the wrong day. -I didn't request anything. – I add and now the guy looks even more confused than me.He hands me the letters and I look at the address. Can people even read? I have a freaking number on my door and it's not the number on the paper. I remain calm and hand him the papers back.-Sorry mate, but this is the wrong apartment. The one you're looking for is below mine.He nods apologetically and excuses himself. I close the door and turn to D.D who is treating himself to my sandwich.-I didn't know you had new neighbors. - He managed to speak with his mouth full.-That makes two of us.I walk to the table and take the less than half sandwich from him.-This, was supposed to be my dinner. - I stare at the remaining portion of my food.-Come on princess, go put a shirt on and I'll treat you to a romantic dinner down at the T-Bell. - He speaks, blowing me kisses and winking.I roll my eyes at him and go to my room to grab a shirt. When I return to the kitchen, I find D.D standing at the hall outside, hanging from the staircase with a smirk on his face. -What?! - I raise a brow at him.-Damn dude! You're in luck. - He cat whistles.I give him a weird look that means elaborate.-Your new neighbor. She's hot! And I mean hot, hot! - He smiles sheepishly-Too bad I've gone celibate. - I respond in a monotone voice and close the door behind me.-You, what?! That's not possible, 'cause...-Shut up man! My head is killing me. – My resolve finally breaks and I unleash my mood on him.-Lame! - He complains, tailing along. We take the elevator as a text pops on the screen of my phone. She's coming back. Great! Another news to make this day worse.**Audrey's P.O.V**I wait in line for my food. At least I don't have to sleep on the floor after all. The guys are putting everything in place upstairs, so I came to T-Bell to grab a bite before I pass out from hunger. In between the flight here and meetings and bringing my stuff to the apartment, I didn't have time to put any food in me. The lady at the counter calls my number and I take the bag from her. As I walk back to the building, a distant laughter catches my attention. A deep, gravelly voice, laughing his heart out. Instinctively I turn my head in the direction of the voice and I see two guys passing the street. I can't make out their features because of the dark, but one of them is very tall and lean and the other a bit shorter, with long hair. They are wearing dark clothes and what looks like leather jackets and they're walking like they own the neighborhood. I shake my head and walk inside the building. ******************After a troublesome sleep and busy morning putting everything in place, I need to go meet with my new assistant and get to know her. I take a quick shower, put on a black camisole, with black pants and black jacket and grab my red stilettos. When I look in the mirror, wearing all black and with my long black hair, I look like I'm going to a funeral. Not a very good first impression on the person that's going to work close with you in the future. I decide to grab my red lipstick and put it on. Content with my look, I walk outside and wait for the elevator. When the door opens, two leather clad backs get in my face. Two boys are standing inside, checking themselves in the mirror, fixing their hair.-Oops! Sorry! - A deep, low voice says, as a pair of piercing blue eyes lock with mine.-Morning! - Greets the other guy, but my mind is blank. Wiped out. Umm...what's my name??No way! There's no way this is happening. What is the actual fucking chance that on the first day here, I meet him? It can't be!-Umm, are you coming in?!- His voice brings me back to reality. -Yeah, um, sorry! Still sleepy. - I say lamely and walk into the elevator. The boys look at each other and the one that I don't know, speaks.-I'm Damien. You must be the new neighbor. -I am. Nice to meet you! - I nod politely, avoiding too much eye contact with them.Drew smiles, flashing a dimple. I definitely don't want to make eye contact with those blue eyes right now. Chill, Audrey, he doesn't even remember you. There's no way he's going to recognize you. He studies me for a while and finally speaks:-I'm Drew. I live in the apartment above yours. Speaking his name out loud kind of gives me the silent confirmation I was looking for, to prove my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. It really was him. Andrew in flesh and bones.-Nice to meet you! - I respond politely like I did with Damien and slip out the doors as soon as they open.-I didn't catch your name! - Damien calls behind me.I stop for a heartbeat, then turn to answer that.-Audrey! - I smile and walk out as fast as I can.
