Audrey's POVI was fidgeting impatiently at the Arrivals area. I couldn't wait to have my baby back in my arms. Every time the doors would open, I'd look up expectantly, until finally, I was able to make out my father's figure from afar. He was very tall and his head was peaking above the rest of the passengers. -Mommy!As soon as I heard that voice my heart started beating violently in my chest. I kneeled and my son came crashing straight into my open arms.-Baby, I can't believe how much you've grown. – I spoke in between kisses all over his tiny face and head. My son was tall and lean, but still a little on the small side. He had my natural straight and light hazelnut hair and also my hazel eyes. I raised with Ian on my arms and hugged my parents. Mom was tearing up at the sight of us, while dad was trying to remain more composed. -I missed you guys so so much! – I hug them tightly.-We missed you too baby. – My mom kissed my cheek. She was tall, still a little shorter than me. Her hair hung straight, in a mid-length cut. My parents were both very presentable. Due to their jobs, their attire became like a second skin, always chick and dressed well. My father was a politician and my mother was a University Chancellor. They were both fluent in English, so yay me, I wouldn't have to babysit and translate them all the time.Eventually we headed home. The entered the apartment inspecting the new surroundings. My apartment is cool and spacey, but still, nothing to their place back home. There, we have the last floor of a flat, and it's over 800 Square meters. The place is practically a football field.-This is a nice place. Also the neighborhood seemed nice and safe. – My father commented, walking to look at the balcony.-It is. It's one of the best, actually. My mom gets closer to me and speaks when dad is out of our earshot.-Is it me, or your foot grew four sizes in less than a year? She also raised her eyebrow suggestively, eyeing the boots that had somehow managed to survive Drew's rushed packing. I couldn't hide my surprise so I just shook my head.-We'll talk later.Shit, Drew! I didn't know if I wanted to get angry at him or just smile at how natural things grew between us that neither of us noticed his combat boots practically by the door. After lunch, I settled Ian in his room. To say that he loved it was the understatement of the year. I softly sang to him and sleep took him within minutes. My baby must be really tired from the horrendous long flight.I head back to the living room, my parents already comfortable on the couch. I could sense my dad was tired.- If you guys would like to nap for a while that's ok. I know how draining the flight could be.- Yeah. I was just thinking about that. – Dad yawned.- For dinner...I was thinking about you know, inviting someone over...I was unsure of how to approach this subject with them.-I don't see why not. I'm glad you already have made friends. – My father added, while mom was looking at me to continue.-I don't know if you guys remember Drew...umm...that friend from America I used to talk to those years ago...-The singer. – My mom confirms.-Oh, the one who used to send you packages? I remember picking those up for you.Good. My father remembers too.-Yes, him. The funny part is that Drew and I hadn't talked in years, but when I first came here...-You contacted him. – My mother finished for me and she couldn't be more wrong.-What?! No! Why would I do that?-Let her speak. – Dad pats her leg.-This will seem unreal, but a couple of days after I moved in, I learned that he was my neighbor, in the apartment above mine. -That's...a weird coincidence. – mom adds surprised.-It is. So, after a while we realized who we were and we caught up on lost time and our friendship re-bloomed, I guess. The thing is...ok this isn't easy for me to say but, the thing is, maybe we are considering giving it a chance to more. - The last part came out barely above a whisper.-You are not considering it. You've made it a fact. I can see he's been hanging around quite a lot since his shoes are by the door and...-He used to live here. – I cut her short. – He and I were roomates for quite a while. -Used to? Were? – My dad asks-Yeah. He moved out. It was just a couple months till he could find a new place.-Does he know? – He nods toward Ian's room.-He does. And he accepts it. – That's why he moved out. To give me space and privacy.-I see. – They both nod and take in all the news.-Well...this is...we need time to process it I guess. – Mom takes a sip from her water.-I believe he's with umm...an unusual appearance and tattoos? – My father asks carefully. I know how his mind works.-Dad! He's a normal guy. And a very good one.He thinks for a while then raises to head to the bedroom.-Let's meet him then. If he's making you happy, I'm happy.Drew's POV.I was a nervous wreck. I was gonna meet her parents. People who had a different opinionated stance towards my reality. Her father was a politician. We came from different planets. I check myself in the elevator mirror once again. Shirt, check. Suit pants, check, serious shoes, check. Not showing tattoos, check. Neatly combed hair, check. Everything looked in place. I knock on the door, feeling weird doing that, since the key is burning in my pocket. Audrey opens the door with a smile on her face and the loveliest kid in her arms. -Oh my goodness he's adorableee! I can't help my reaction. It was sincere and heartfelt. -Can I hold him? - I swear I know how to. - I say to her.-He's not that little,m you know. He can stand for himself – I laugh at Drew's-And I speak English Mr. Dru. – The little man speaks already trying to get into my arms. He says my name in a funny way.-Oh my god, Drew he recognizes you!-He does? How?-Well, from my tshirt...and the songs. I've shown him The Dispiples and he screams cause he's trying to sound like you. You'll hate me for not telling you this earlier, but you're kinda umm... his role model.-Oh!! High five baby! - I hold my hand out and Ian high fives me. Damn he's cute.-Let's get inside. - Audrey suggests. I walk behind her, the boy still in my arms, his little hands studying my face, pulling on my cheeks. She speaks something in her language to her parents and they walk towards me. Her father shakes my hand and introduces himself-Nice to meet you sir! - I speak slowly not wanting to babble nervously -Nice to finally meet you Drew. - Her mom smiles. I remember her mom. I used to greet her on cam every now and then. She hasn't changed at all. -Nice to meet you too madam. This champ here is adorable. - I refer to the baby who calls 'nana' all the time wanting to go to his grandmother. We sit to dinner and the conversation hops from topic to topic.-Give him to me. Let's see if we can become best buddies! - I smile as I take Ian in my lap. Ian smiles and instantly jumps to me. He calms down and studies my actions. I feed him quietly, smiling and taking in everything about him. He doesn't need feeding since he's big enough, but I don't know why I feel like pampering him. I'm in love with this child. My heart skips a beat every time he smiles at me.-My buddy Dru.- He smiles and fist-bumps me.-He likes you. - Audrey's mother comments, a soft look in her eyes. They're warming up to me.-I have to say I wasn't expecting someone in a suit and shirt. - Audrey laughs lightly. I get the point.-Believe me sir, outside the performance part, I am a very simple guy. - I answer that with a laugh myselfAudrey's POVDinner went mainly well. A couple comments from my father which I didn't translate for Drew. Now I was doing the dishes and my mom and dad were sitting with Drew and Ian. Ian was telling Drew all about his love for music and how he wanted to become a star. I kept laughing every now and then with the way Drew was trying to hold his enthusiasm. I could say he sounded more ecstatic that Ian. Audrey, he's getting sleepy. - My mom informs me.-Can I put him to bed? - Drew asks genuinely.-I don't know if you can handle that. - I laugh.-I can sing! - Drew states matter-of-factly.-That, he likes. – I reply to the hopeful Drew and My baby who was whispering please, please, please behind Drew's back.-I'll try then. - Drew winks at me walks to the room. I can hear a distant 'How do you like it baby? Look, that's Batman. You like Batman? I looove Batman. Superman is lame. But...Don't tell mama that. She'll kick my ass! Oops, Shit, I said ass. Oh hell!! I suck at this!! Just don't say any of the words I said now.' I hear Ian giggle madly and they "pinky-promise". I smile to myself. Then the singing starts. Drew softly sings the words to one of his songs which Ian loves and I can't help but fall harder from him. Then I turn around and look at my parents. This is picture perfect. I hope I get to keep this...
