"Almighty Raiden Shogun, a man has declared a duel before the throne. He left the message written in the blood of the Shogunate men. Will you take up the duel?" Sara declared, head bowed before the Electro Archon that meditated in front of her.

The Shogun's legs unfurled, thudding as her feet hit the ground. Electro pulsed through the air, divine and holy.

"I accept the invitation. May divine judgment be unfurled upon him," the Shogun said plainly, with no fear. She had no need for it.

"As the Shogun decrees."

It felt weird to have everyone seated around the table.

Everyone but the infamous Ayato, who had yet to make his debut. The elusive male was a blood brother to Ayaka, but he seemed to keep to himself more often than not. Regardless, it felt off to see Albedo chewing on a piece of sushi absentmindedly. He didn't have chopsticks, mostly because they seemed to elude him. Qiqi only sat there, sipping on what must've been coconut milk, whilst Klee devoured just about anything she could grab.

Kaeya lightly scolded her a few times, telling her to be polite, but Klee would just stare at him, nod a few times with her chipmunk cheeks, wait until she had fully eaten everything before repeating. It wasn't until Albedo finally snapped out of it that Klee actually tried to be polite.

Both Thoma and Ayaka had watched with mild amusement the entire duration. When it finally settled down, Ayaka spoke, a chill settling in the room.

"Somebody challenged the Raiden Shogun to a duel before the throne."

Thoma did a double take, blinking several times. You also did a double take, having heard how merciless the Shogun was to those with visions.

"Who'd be foolish enough to dare such a thing?!" Thoma asked, shock and alarm all over his face. "Challenging the Shogun is suicide! It's like walking up to the executioner's block and then asking to be beheaded! For no reason!"

"Thoma," Ayaka scolded. Thoma mumbled an apology before Ayaka went on. "The Shogun has agreed to this duel from this King. We don't know who he is, or if it even is a he."

Kaeya placed his hand around his chin, hiding his smirk with his fingers. So the Shogun accepted his challenge. Gorou had advised him against it, but Kaeya was so sure he could beat the Shogun that he pushed until even the leader of the resistance herself said that he could.

Ayaka's voice faded to white noise as she continued talking.

Resistance rebels would be scattered amongst the crowd whilst he made his move against the Archon. They planned it out, but it was aimed towards him failing.

And Kaeya, never, failed. Ever. He hated failing. He would bring the Shogun down. His hand curled into a fist as his thoughts ran wild.

Kill... kill... kill. Kill. KILL. KILL! KILL!!!

The voices screamed for blood, screamed for his hands to be soaked with the red liquid. They demanded he kill the sinner. His breathing increased in speed, adrenaline coursing through him. He would kill-

A hand was placed on his shoulder. A warm feminine one. His name was heard amongst the ringing in his ears. Kaeya? Kaeya are you alright?
