Taska sat on the floor of the bridge, her lightsaber and a servo driver in hand. “What're you doing, General?” Lark asked from his nearby workstation.

“You'll see,” she replied mysteriously. Closing her eyes, she held a hand out in front of her. Slowly, the lightsaber came apart, the sapphire inlays shining a dark blue in the fluorescent light as they sat side-by-side with the long curved panels of steel. All that was then left was the inner workings, a small crystal at the center of it all.

“I've never seen a Jedi work on their lightsaber before,” he added, observing her work with interest. Ace peered over his shoulder. “Is it not working properly?”

“No, it's working just fine,” Taska said with a smile. “If it wasn’t, that would probably mean there was something very wrong with me.”

“Do you have to clean it, like a blaster?”

“Nothing to clean, Lark,” she laughed. “It is an elegant, complex weapon, but it doesn't fire blasts or need cartridges, so I don't need to clean it.”

“So then what are you doing?”

“I said you'll see.”

Ace and Lark watched patiently as the general tinkered with her disassembled weapon. As she finished, she closed her eyes, willing the pieces of the lightsaber back together with the Force.

“Alright. Now you can see what I was doing. Are you ready?”

Lark gave a nod, raising his eyebrows.
She ignited the lightsaber, revealing an indigo blade in place of the typical jade one.

“Wow,” Ace said in awe. “I didn't know you could do that.”

“Not a lot of us do,” she admitted. “It's easy, if you know what you're doing. You have to position the crystal and refractor just right.”

“Do you do that often?” Lark asked.

“Only every once in a while,” she shrugged. “I had a cyan blade when I was a youngling, and a gold one for a brief time as a Padawan. I had frost for a while, and jade since before I became a knight, and so I figured it was time for a change. Now we match,” she said, laughing as Lark flinched when she held her lightsaber up to a piece of his indigo armor.

A/N: This was just a little something that I thought would be cute and also give more personality, not only to Taska, but also the clones; they begin to see that, even though she’s a Jedi, she does care about them and wants to show, not necessarily that they belong to her, but that she belongs with them. I might extend this scene later to make it more meaningful, but until then, here’s a bonus scene for you!
