"Shit.." Yoongi muttered, attempting to turn on the water to the sink.
He wanted some water to put in his big soup pot, but there wasn't any. With Hoseok having barely any luck with jobs these past couple weeks, they've been very low on money, lower than what they normally are.
Notices have been appearing on the door to pay bills, the first bill being the water bill. It was only a matter of time before something else was shut off. Hopefully Hoseok had some luck today seeing as it was past noon and he wasn't home at all.
Over at the docks, Hoseok was working a hard job of moving heavy crates by hand from one place to another. He was doing this for a whopping 8 bucks for the day, which back then was a pretty good amount of money. Whatever worked, he didn't care as long as he brought something home to his family.
"Hey Hoseok." A familiar voice said, walking up behind him. The raven turned around a bit, 3 large crates in his hold to see who was calling for him.
Taehyung Kim, him and his husband, Jungkook Kim, and 4 kids live two doors down from them in the same complex. They too were in the basement part of it. The families knew each other because their kids play together outside almost every chance they can get.
The Kims are a big family, they were young too. Taehyung is 25, Jungkook is 24 and they've been having babies non stop. Right now the younger of the two was pregnant again with their fifth child.
"Hey Taehyung, How are you?" Hoseok asked, which was a terrible question to ask, but it was a natural reaction when you see someone.
"Living, I guess. You?" Taehyung replied, shrugging his shoulders as best as he could, he had two crates in his arms.
"Doing alright. How's Jungkook and the kids doing?" The older asked, setting the boxes down in their designated spots.
"The kids are doing fine, Jungkook's a little on edge, but he's alright too. Your family?" Tae replied, placing the crates down and following Hoseok back to the main spot.
"We're managing, when this is over I'm hoping to get this money and pay the bills.. We're overdue and keep getting notices. It's the first time in 2 weeks I've been picked for work." Hoseok sighed, stacking crates.
"We don't have heat or water.. So far we have electricity so we can cook some type of meal, but who knows how long until we have that.." The younger sighed, just like Hoseok he hasn't been having luck either.
"If you guys need anything, don't be afraid to ask, we will help as much as we can.." Hoseok said, a small smile appearing as he lifted the crates.
"Thank you, you as well." Taehyung said, smiling back at the older.
...
"Momma. I'm hungry.." Dal said, resting his head on Yoongi's leg. The poor boy didn't have breakfast, his mother was late on lunch and now dinner was going to be late.
