Hoseok was working the usual long shift and Yoongi was taking the kids out for a shopping day. The raven only wanted to get the bare necessities, seeing as they are on a big budget. He walked into the small shop and picked up a wicker basket.

As they were shopping around, Dal noticed something that would be perfect for the special occasion that is tomorrow, that occasion being his dad's birthday. Hoseok will be 30 tomorrow, but it didn't really matter to him, it was just another day and he'll possibly be working anyway so what's the use of celebrating?

"Mom.. Can we get that?" Dal asked, grabbing the small ham that was resting on the shelf. It wasn't huge at all, but just because it's small doesn't mean it's cheap..

Yoongi looked up to see what his son was talking about. Even though it was small the raven knew it was expensive because any other meat besides baloney, hot dogs and chipped beef were considered expensive and you had to save up alot of money for it.

"No buddy, not this time. I'm only getting what we need." Yoongi replied to his son.

"But.. We need it. It can be dad's birthday dinner tomorrow." The 9 year old said with a pout, he really wanted to do something special for his dad.

"I know it's his birthday tomorrow, but to him it is just another day and he doesn't really celebrate. Plus that is very expensive and we can't afford it. So please put it back, we are almost done." The raven said, walking just a couple feet away to try and grab more things they needed, Yu-jin right next to him holding onto his leg.

Dal just stood there with a pout, he really wanted to do something nice for his dad. He deserved this meal, he works so hard for them to at least have food on the table and bills paid so they can have water, heat and electricity. An idea struck in his head, but it was a bad and risky thing to do.

The 9 year old looked around the market, his mom wasn't paying attention, nor was anyone else who was shopping. Not even the store clerk was paying attention. He did one last check to see if anyone was looking, no one was. So, he opened his coat, tucked the ham into his pants and then zipped his jacket back up so it wasn't seen on him.

"Dal, Come on we need to go!" Yoongi called out to his son as he made his way to the register.

"Coming mom!" Dal called back and carefully made his way back to his mother, making sure the ham that was tucked in his pants and coat was not going anywhere until they got home.

Yoongi set the wicker basket on the counter and watched the store clerk calculate their total. Soon the raven handed the money to her and took the paper bag of groceries so they could leave the store. Finally the three were done and on the sidewalk, walking back to the apartment.

The 9 year old was nervous about this whole thing, but at the same time he was very happy that he got something for his dad. He knows what he did was wrong, but surely they'll understand right? They have to seeing as he's watched his mom do it before.
