"If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you the day just like today"

The walk home was cold but provided a young brown-haired boy with enough time to unwind. It was a much needed breath of fresh air for him.
Jungkook's day was packed with online college lessons and hours spent at work. None of his days were ever different. He visited the same places, saw the same people. He found himself growing tired of it more and more every day. His hopes were all but gone for real, raw excitement.
That's why he was surprised to meet someone new.
Jungkook knew almost everyone in his part of town. He had seen their faces and used their names frequently. Then an unfamiliar boy stepped into the bakery one day. He was different. It was the only way he could describe him. Dyed red hair, black ripped clothes studded with silver, narrow eyes. It caught him off guard that day.
There was talk going around about someone similar. A boy that had lived and worked alongside them but rarely went out of his way to talk to them. Some feared that he was there to stir the pot, to cause trouble in the usually quiet outskirts. Jungkook listened to the stories that they told. Even his closest friends and coworkers Jimin and Hoseok talked about him. Jungkook couldn't help but be wary of this boy though he never met him. All of it could be true.
The stranger matched the definition of the boy running the flower shop. Jungkook didn't let his smile leave his face as he asked him for his order though he was close to cowering under his stare. His voice didn't seem to match his look. It was gentle, nervous perhaps, but no one else heard it except for Jungkook. It made him confused.
When the redhead left, he noticed Hoseok behind him, sending him a worried glance.
"That was him," he whispered to Jungkook, "The punk boy everyone's talking about."
"It was?"
Jungkook didn't believe it at first until Hoseok nodded.
"He's lived here for almost a year, and no one has really seen him out."
"He didn't look dangerous, so what's the deal?"
"We don't know anything about him. He might be causing trouble without any of us knowing it."
Jungkook quickly buttoned up his coat as a gust of wind hit his front. That happened a few days ago. He kept Hoseok's words in his mind, just in case he ever saw the redhead again.
He came back the next day at the same time. Jungkook was behind the counter again. When he came up to him, he watched him, observed him, looking for any hint of danger lurking around him.
He had a leather jacket around his shoulders with silver studs on the sleeves. A red package of cigarettes stuck out of his pocket. There were small tattoos on all of his fingers. He wasn't making eye contact with him, just blankly staring ahead as he ordered rather quietly. Jungkook expected him to morph into the person Hoseok told him about. He waited for it as he rang up his order and took his money.
The redhead didn't say another word. His eyes purposefully avoided Jungkook's gaze.
He was nervous.
Jungkook looked down at his apron to where the redhead was staring. His fingers hooked around a light pink bunny pin on his apron. He looked up at him and smiled.
"Oh, you like my pin? I got it from a friend a while back. Said it reminded them of me."
The sound of his voice looked like it shocked him, but his mouth ended up curling upward into a half grin and he said something back. "It's cute."
