"I've never fallen from quite this high
Fallin' into your ocean eyes"

Taehyung had slept like a rock throughout the night, only waking up when he heard his bedroom door open with a squeak. He rolled over on his side. Light shone in his eyes. He pried one open. His curtains were pulled back and the sun's ray shone through, almost blinding him.
"Darn, you're up already."
Jungkook was at the foot of his bed, watching him with a disappointed look on his face. Taehyung pushed his comforter off of himself and sat up slowly. His hands combed through his hair, faded red strands falling in front of his face. He needed to get more hair dye.
"Yeah. So what?" he groggily shot back.
The boy shuffled closer, bending down. He was messing with the strings of his sweatpants. Taehyung's favorite pair of sweatpants. That's right, he said to himself. He didn't want the boy sleeping in stiff jeans all night.
"I was gonna scare you," Jungkook mumbled, pouting, "Now I can't."
Taehyung rolled his eyes, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "You scare me enough."
He got a light punch in the shoulder. Just a silly, playful one that didn't hurt. Taehyung was sure he could hit harder than that. Jungkook was good at hiding muscle under his sleeves.
Said boy got up right when Taehyung did, looking out the window. Just like most spring days in the outskirts of town, it was cheery and bright outside. Taehyung checked the time. It was almost nine.
"Kook, you need to get to work." he remarked a bit worriedly.
Jungkook turned his head, sunlight framing his face almost as if he was in a painting.
"Oh, I got a call from Hoseok. He said I can take the day off."
"I assume he doesn't know you're here."
"Nope." the boy snorted, "I don't care anyway. He doesn't control me. I can hang out with whoever I want."
Taehyung grinned, "I like that confidence. Let's make it a fun day."
"Okay yeah, that sounds cool. What should we do first?"
The two looked at each other for a moment before they smiled in unison.
"Breakfast."
Both boys sped into the kitchen, their excitement quite obvious to each other. Taehyung looked through his fridge and cabinets with chips in their paint, discussing ideas with Jungkook.
"Let's make chocolate chip pancakes."
"And waffles! Do you have a waffle maker?"
"I do."
"Perfect! We could cut up some fruit and make them fruit waffles."
"My mouth's watering already. There's a knife in that drawer over there and a cutting board under the sink. You cut, I'll take care of the rest."
A few minutes later, Taehyung's kitchen was bustling with activity. The redhead was by the stove, flipping hot chocolate pancakes onto a plate while the waffle iron steamed. Jungkook had already sliced up pieces of strawberries and cantaloupe. He washed handfuls of blueberries and then combined all three in a big bowl. Taehyung snuck over as he was putting dirty dishes in the sink, popping a few pieces of fruit in his mouth.
