No matter what event, the backstages are all the same, a constant warzone of crew and performers battling against time.
The coordinators shouting into their headsets, herding people from A to B. Those with experiences tuning into their zones, when newbies puking their guts out under pressure. Chloe hasn't been in a backstage for a long time, not since she quit DANCE MOMS, the air of chaos and excitement made her feel alive again.
Kendall's mother got her a spot modeling at the Star Vision Fashion Show, an event to promote the raising young artist Adriana Gardner.
It went against policy of course, but Jill wasn't the only one breaking contract. With the show now focusing on the new members, the original moms lost faith on their daughters getting more attention. Both Kelly and Jill have been sending their girls to modeling, singing and other career opportunities.
"How do I look?" Kendall was nervous as usual, years of competitions didn't improve her stage fright, trembling as two dressers fitting her clothes.
"You look beautiful!" Chloe smiled.
"Look at them! They're all skinny! I look plump!" Kendall glanced at other teen models.
"You look great. They are underweight, starve themselves to eleven percent body fat. Just wait 'til it's cold and you'll see how well they do."
"You should do this. You should try modeling too!" Kendall forced a smile, trying to loosen herself.
"Your friend is right. You have a good figure." one of the dressers said.
"Thank you, but I don't think I'm qualified." Chloe smiled politely.
"You're Chloe, right? My mom watches DANCE MOMS."
"Yes." And for that, I think I have enough exposure to last a lifetime. Chloe didn't say.
Suddenly there was a stir at the door, two men in suits broke out a path, followed by TV crew and their spotlights, someone big was coming in.
"Oh My God! She's here! She's here!" Kendall and other young models all lost their cool, bouncing in excitement like little girls.
Before Chloe's eyes, the young artist presented herself like a goddess, and turned the whole backstage into her own dressing room.
The sixteen years old Puerto Rican has risen quickly in the past year, writing and singing her own songs, as well as establishing her own fashion brand.
Adriana was all camera-ready, her long blonde hair were tied into a pair of buns shaped like cat ears, her eyelashes long and black. She wore a white bra-top with glittering stones, matched with long skinny pants that revealed her slim legs, the color struck high contrast with her deep olive skin, capturing every eye in the surroundings.
"Oh My God! She looked at me! She looked at me!!" Kendall jumping with joy, so did the rest of the young models.
"She looks at everyone." Chloe trying to calm her friend down.
"Do you think she'll take a picture with me?"
"I'm sure she will, but maybe after the show."
Right away, people began working around the young artist. She has her own crew of dressers, makeup artist, hair stylist and assistants, all dressed in black suit and silky blue shirt. Adriana stood cool like a statue, talking with the show director.
"Oh My God! She has her own crew to do her makeup!" Kendall admired.
"It's not like we didn't."
"Yes, but when we did it, it was our moms! And I love her accent!"
The director finished briefing the young star, clapped his hands for everyone's attention, and giving out the rundown of the show.
