Bella's heart almost stopped when she received the news.
She hard of a good friend of hers had died... Murdered, no it wasn't Jackson, it was another, and older man who went by the name of Marcus.
She had known him for quite some time, hell he had looked after her when she was younger, she could call him her father, but he wasn't. Her parents had been killed in a car crash. Marcus was her godfather in fact.
That night, Bella had stayed quiet and even started drinking. Ingrid instantly knew that Bella had received bad news, it must have been really bad news'.
'Penny for your thoughts?'
She asked Bella and Bella hesitated before motioning for Ingrid to one of the armchairs.
'You remember Marcus?'
Ingrid chuckled, 'oh my gosh! Yeah? The candy man, I haven't seen him in a-', she stopped talking when she realised what the whole situation was.
'Oh...'.
Bella nodded, 'I'm sorry Bella', Ingrid was trying to hold back the tears. Although she had only known Marcus when he was young, she still remembered him clearly, and no, it wasn't because of the candy.
'I miss him'.
Ingrid mumbeled and Bella sighed, 'I do to'.
She didn't have him to turn to now when she was mentally sick, sure she had Jackson, but he wouldn't understand.
'Isn't it past your bed time?'
Bella chuckled and Ingrid rolled her eyes, 'come on Bella, seriously?'
'Fine, you can stay up a little longer, in fact, can you turn the kettle on please?'
'Yes, captain'.
When Ingrid left, Bella looked over to one of the photos on the little side table. A photo of her and Marcus.
'I'm gonna miss you Marcus'.
