The kitchen had gone silent, the kettle had stopped boiling completley.

'I had to take her, she's my daughter and-'.

'Bullshit she's yours!'

'Bella I-'.

'No, fuck you John'.

He took a sudden step towards her, he was getting angry, but she didn't care, he had no right to be angry at her.

'She's my daughter for godsake! I have a right to take her! You don't have a right to have her!'

That sentence had stopped Bella completley. John had used his time wisely.

'I'm not longer doing my job anymore, and it's time that I take my daughter, I didn't expect to take so long and Helen-'.

'So it was Helen who left Ingrid at my doorstep'.

John frowned, 'what?' Bella looked away from him, anger boiling through her once again, she understood what was going on. She knew Helen and the older woman obviously knew that Bella was safer, Ingrid could grow up easily with her.

'Helen... She left Ingrid at my door step with a little note attatched... You wanna know what it said?'

John hadn't said anything, so Bella spoke.

'I know I can trust you to look after her until he comes.'

Her voice broke when she said it, she remembered that the note was still in that drawer in her desk.

'I assume he meant you'.

She chuckled, but it lacked any humor.

'Bella listen, I-'.

She snapped, 'no, I'm not listening to anything you're saying, every single word you'll say means nothing!'

'For fucksake Bella, you know you can't fight this, so you may as well stop!'

She was losing it, the look John was giving her, the look of someone who won the case.

'Oh? I might as well stop?'

She took a step towards him, her eyes piercing his.

'So you want me to stop fighting for the one person I love the most in my life?'

John shut his eyes in frustration when he realised what he said, 'look, I didn't mean to say it that way-'.

'You're standing in my kitchen, yelling at me, and saying that she's your daughter, when you haven't even been in her life at all!

Bella snarled at him, her hands were clenched in fists of rage. John was trying his best to talk to her, 'Bella, I know it's hard to let Ingrid go, but she's in a better place now'.

She took slow step towards him and she spoke in a deadly tone, tears threaten to fall down her cheeks.

'Who watched her walk for the first time?'

'Bella, that's not fai-'.

'Who was it that nursed her back to health when she was sick?'

'Bella'.

'Who was the one who made breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day for her?'

She could see that her words were hurting him, good.

'Who was the one who checked the closet and under the bed to see if there were monsters?'

She took another slow step towards him until she was at arms length.

'What about, when she was able to tie her shoes for the first time? When she did well in a subject? when she graduated primary school? When she had a boyfriend and suffered a terrible break up huh? Who was there to comfort her for that?'

'Bella'.

His voice had grown weak as he looked down at her, he was much taller than Bella, but she didn't care.

'Who was it John? Who was it that helped her become who she is today?

She took another step towards him and she felt a wave of triumph when John took a shaky step back, as she leaned in and sneered up at him.

'It sure as hell wasn't you'.

No more steps, that was it, she couldn't take it anymore.

'Look John I- I know she's your daughter, but I don't give two shits about that, and I know you can take her from me, I'm not mad at you for showing up the way you did to say that you wanted her back, it's-'.

She lets the tears fall, 'I know you were going to come by eventually to be honest, I was ready for it, of course I'm not going to be happy, I didn't raise her to just let her go okay, I raised her because I love her, I may not be her mother, but I think we both know and Helen knew that I wasn't far off being one! I would've given her to you in a civil manner.

Her hands were shaking.

'I understand that you had to take her, I guess you did the right thing'.

'But John?'

His eyes never left hers, they had become glassy.

'You did the right thing... But it's the way you did it, that set me off... Did it ever occur to you how I felt when I came home and find a fake letter on the table, and when I look around the house and call every single fucking friend of hers, and figure out that she's not there?'

'You knew it was a fake letter straight away?'

His voice had grown very weak, he looked nothing like the original John Wick. She had stripped him down to almost nothing.

'Yes, I knew straight away, and you wanna know how I knew?... It's because she never calls me mum!'

That was it... She was all out, there was nothing else to say.

Bella I'm so-'.

'You're what? Sorry?'

She couldn't raise her voice at him, her throat was beginning to hurt.

'You're not sorry John, you were never sorry the moment you planned to take Ingrid from me'.

One tear, she saw one tear fall from his eye before she turned away from him, 'get out of here John'.

'Bella, please let me-'.

'I said get out!'

She spun around and threw the mug at him, of course being John Wick, he caught it, his eyes were wide with shock as he slowly placed the cup down onto the kitchen counter. Their eyes were locked for a few moments before he turned and disappeared.
