❝ And, after all, what is a lie? 'Tis but the truth in masquerade. ❞

Four days.
Four days had passed since the night Vlad King was attacked and four days had passed since the night the perpetrator behind the crime was arrested. However, as of yet, the details of the incident were still murky. And four days had passed since Aizawa Shouta had gotten any sleep.

Following the momentary blackout caused by the explosion of the streetlamps — something he still didn't understand as according to the electricians there were no signs of sabotage on them — Vlad King was immediately shifted to the Musutafu General Hospital where the second mystery of the case presented itself before him.
Judging from the amount of blood he'd seen, the underground Pro Hero was at least expecting a deep gash on the back of his colleague's head. However, when the medical staff unraveled the makeshift black bandage around his head— put together from a torn black jacket he'd found lying a few feet away from the scene — they only found a tiny cut on his head, something one would get if they scratched their head too hard. And as far as Aizawa knew, Vlad didn't have lice in his hair.
Nor did he have any sort of a healing Quirk, much to the surprise of the doctors.
Because according to them, there had been a deep gash on his head, evident from the blood plastered on his scalp and signs of recent healing around the tender wound. And besides the on-scene reports corresponded with their findings.
And then there were the messages he'd received.
All the UA teachers' phones were protected using a special software built by Principal Nezu. To access their phones, one had to type in a specific password. And according to the phone records, the last time someone had typed in the password and used the phone was one hour before the estimated time of attack when Vlad had called Principal Nezu himself.
And this did not correspond with the messages he had received.
And finally, as for the criminal caught, the police identified him as Ogino Shoichi, a petty, for-hire street thug with a Quirk that rendered your five senses useless when activated, which explained how Vlad didn't sense him behind him and fell prey to his otherwise amateur attack. He also styled his yellow hair in pigtails, but that's irrelevant.
But the most confusing aspects of this case were the statements they'd given the morning after the attack.
For Vlad, most of it was predictable. He was out on official UA business, he ran late while attending to his duties, he had decided to head home for the day and was just about to step out on the open street when BAM!
