Being a detective is like squirting lemon juice directly at the human eye.

I try to find the culprit and always end up with a bonus.

That'll soon stop-like a car driving at a one-way road and seeing a bunch of sheep blocking the path midway.

It's already afternoon.

I haven't found the culprit and I'll be ruined if I really don't. The criminal lives just by a few blocks from where I live-or so I believe.
I usually find the solution faster than most detectives, and yet, this is stopping me from getting a bonus.

This is giving me more than just the feeling of excitement.

I can tell this case is quite extraordinary. The difficulty of this case shoots higher than 100. Though it's not impossible,
that is-with my intellectual skill and logical thinking I'll find out in less than a week or two.

I better rest for today, I have to say I want to solve this as soon as possible because I'm going to be quite occupied in the next few days-I don't want to blast out the fun and actually just enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime case offer.

Nighttime fell and Ranpo was still not able to sleep. He was occupied with the case in his mind, but at the same hours, he was feeling dizzy and somewhat felt like he was hallucinating the whole time.

[The Next Day]

Ranpo woke up with the expectation of feeling all energized and hyper even though he lacked some sleep. Sleep doesn't bother the young man that much that even he can stay awake for a whole 4 days trying to solve a case he was interested in.

Ranpo woke up feeling all dizzy and numb.

As he stood up by his lamp table, he opened the first drawer and took out a file. Pretty much to reminisce about the case and how it went. It was his first ever case he has solved when he was took in the agency. It was the hardest he has ever solved-but he lost all interest to solving unnecessary (or so he believes is unnecessary) and boring cases. But to no choice, the young man has to help with cases not anyone can easily solve, not even for the other agency members.

He put the file back to his drawer and stretched out his arms-making him feel better. Then, a not so vivid memory came across his mind. It was about yesterday night when he was busy pondering about the newly accepted case.

Ranpo thought to himself that it must've been impossible for him to 'hallucinate' the whole night, he was all too self-aware that he stays awake very late at night everytime he was occupied with an interesting thought, event, or idea.

The other night-he gained little to no sleep.
Yet it didn't bother the man and just went along the day as usual-looking fresh and fully awake.

Or so he thought..

His alarm clock went off.

Ranpo woke up in cold sweat. He checked the time and it read "6:30".

He was not aware whether it was dusk or dawn. He moved the curtains aside and followed by opening the windows to check.

It was.. dark out.

[6:30PM]

Ranpo checked his alarm again to see if he set a time for the clock to wake him up at 6:30PM.

Ranpo was confused and was quite terrified and shaken, he never sets his alarm time to 6:30PM.

But he remembered that his alarm clock was old, he shook the shaken feeling out of him-looking out for the possibility that it was just a short malfunction.
