DJ had found out a long time ago that people didn't consider him to be very observant. It wasn't hard to figure out, considering humans and bots alike would do things they normally wouldn't when others were around. Like getting a bit too handsy on the dancefloor, or trying to shove an entire, defiantly stolen, large pizza down their beak in one bite during the afterhours like some kind of demonic snake... the scariest part was that she'd succeeded.
The assumption wasn't that far off either considering how often he found himself lost in the music playing from his headphones. What they didn't know though, was that he had little eyes and ears all over the Pizzaplex to keep him updated on any and everything going on far before the news could reach his dancefloor. Those little eyes were how he found out about the fire in the building.
The news had been sent to him by three of his minis within minutes of one another. The first came from his Ukulele player who frequented the lower levels, absentmindedly commenting about a strange glow he had noticed in one of the halls, the second was the Harmonicist telling him in a wheeze filled with exasperation and concern about how he'd had to herd a crying Roxanne back up to the higher levels after she'd wandered close to what he'd thought was a stray flame, two of the other Glamrocks following after them from the shadows. He said that he hadn't been able to get a good glimpse at any of them, but that something had felt off as he left them to their own devices.
DJ was already rising from his place in his booth to go check on his coworkers by the time his bell player began to ring frantically for his attention, panickily reporting that the lower levels were completely ablaze with a rapidly spreading flame. Freddy and a small boy barely having made it out on time before the flames had begun to spread to the upper levels and she'd been forced to flee back up.
With the help of his minis DJ had quickly gotten to work, setting off the fire alarm manually so the already pitifully useless sprinklers could at least get a head start before hunting with the smaller beings for anyone who would need assistance in escaping and placing them down in a field far enough that the fire wouldn't spread to them before diving back in for another search. It was only when the building was quite literally beginning to crumble around him that he knew he would have to leave
Under his command, his minis began to evacuate to the exit, dodging falling rubble and reaching flames as they swarmed out like ants. DJ watched them scatter attentively, making sure none were left behind as they poured out from the building. Just as he was about to leave with the last of them, he was suddenly assaulted with a barrage of frantically sent pings.
He didn't allow himself a moment to hesitate as he rushed to the source of the pings, squeezing deeper into the Pizzaplex even as the crowd of minis thinned out to the exit and the walls he had to break through fell behind him in a heap of rubble. Finally, he arrived at the daycare's pick-up area, the large doors open enough that he could see the familiar figure of one of his minis attempting to lift what seemed to be a fallen structure of sorts, only letting up when something beneath it grabbed their attention. What looked to be a bundle of cloth and paper was shoved against their chest, immediately being shoved back vehemently with a jerky shake of the head, body swaying along in a way that told DJ that their systems were overheating.
Wasting no more time DJ pressed against the doorway, doing his best to squeeze into the Daycare just enough that he could shift the play structure away without harming the one underneath it. Gently, he lifted the now exposed bot into his palm along with who he now recognized to be his tambourine player. It was the Daycare Attendant, rays drooping and left arm hanging on by the framing alone. They cheered brokenly when he lifted them to his face, and he could see just how worn down they'd become compared to the last time he'd been able to see his celestial friend. He looked away before he could focus on it too much, they still had to escape after all; time was ticking. In fact...
DJ looked back to the way he'd came, barricaded by fire and debris, before looking to the nearest wall, it would be so much easier to just...
Cupping a hand over his two companions, DJ raised a fist and began to smash through the walls, not stopping until he felt the chilled morning air against his warm casing. The building behind him heaved and he continued to the field without a glance back. He didn't look back even when they made it to the others, Sun completely unresponsive in his hand even as minis crawled over and around them to assess the damage done while the rest carefully loaded the other damaged bots onto DJ's back to do the same. He didn't look back when the sirens got closer or when the roads he'd been following from the cover of the trees branched off into neighborhoods and cities. Or even when he got too close to a house and the dogs in the backyard began to hurl themselves against the fencing, growling and barking enough that DJ feared they would wake the entire block with their racket. It was only when he saw a familiar logo in the corner of his eye that he allowed himself so much as a double take. The dull, lifeless eyes of Freddy Fazbear's older model stared back at him, pointing at him accusingly from a Fazbear Entertainment sign.
The building the sign was attached to was huge, but nothing compared to the Pizzaplex. Most likely a storage unit of sorts. DJ stalked towards it with reluctant steps, though even he himself couldn't understand his own hesitance.
By all means, anything related to the company should be considered a lifesaver to them. The possibility that there would be plenty of spare parts and charging stations too high for it not to be what with the blanket of damaged bots on his back. And yet... DJ turned away from the building, hoping to himself that they wouldn't be regretting his decision any time soon.
