Fighting A Losing War

Everyone is talking to me, trying to get their ideas through to me in this meeting. There talking non stop on what we should do how we can be better. However they all sound like little buzzing noises to me, my attention is miles away and I'm not mad about it. She is sat near the end of the table next to her friend Ronni I believe, she's looks gorgeous in her outfit, a brown turtleneck with these beige trouser. I mean she always looks good but for some odd reason today I can not seem to take my eyes off of her. All through out this discussion and what our next project should be on she has been sat there, her leg bouncing whilst she writes in her notebook, occasionally looking up and meeting my eyes. Only when she sees I am looking at her she quickly looks around the room as if she wants to know is anyone is noticing, then she looks back down making me smile to myself.

"Shaun, I really think he is right we should focus more on what will sell to our customers not branch out to other possible customers" I hear my brother sat beside me, he looks at me confused as I take a while to answer. "I'll think about it, as for now meeting has ended get back to your desks."

I watch as everyone collects there things and rushes out of the room, my eyes still watching this beauty until I can no longer see her.

"You are playing a dangerous game brother, she's young and you're married with a child."
I hadn't noticed he was still there, "I don't know what you mean" I pause whilst I close my laptop "and besides you and I both know this thing I'm in isn't a marriage, purely a business deal father thought we needed."

Chris doesn't say anything until I'm about to leave the room, "I mean man I know shes hot, look what I'm saying is she doesn't seem the type to go for guys like you, like us. She's young wants to live her life. I could bet money on it shes out all the time drinking not hovering a fuck about life. We were her age once just think." I get what he's saying I really do, but that's not her, I know it.

"You don't know her Chris-" he cuts me up.
"Oh but you do" before I end up saying anything else I leave the room and make my way to the entrance of the building only to find a specific brunette stood looking at the London traffic, I stay a moment taking her in. Not wanting to disturb her thoughts.

I begin to make my way over to where she is, making sure to not be to close to her. Once I'm stood next to where she is standing I look a head of me the same way she is. Only but now I notice her head has turned my way and looking up at me. "Hi" she says softly, still looking at me.

I bring my gaze to her, never getting bored of looking at her features, "Hi, what are you doing out here. It's cold and you don't have a coat" she just continues to look at me.

"Sorry, I'll head back in now." Her eyes drift to the floor as she turns to leave, without thinking I grab her wrist and her eyes dart to where my hand is and back to my eyes.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have" I move my hand and put it in pocket to prevent me doing something like that again.

"It's okay no need to apologise, is there, is there something you wanted to say" she says almost like a whisper.

"I don't want you to leave yet, I like your company." Her face scans mine as if she has no clue how to respond, I was to forward this time I think. Fuck.

"I think I should go back to work" she walks away before I could even get a sentence out.

"Right okay." I mutter quietly, turning back to the street in front of me.

I am so going to regret this, what am I doing. I should stop, nope to late now I'm here putting it down.

I noticed Lily and majority of the office had let to the canteen, there was only three people left in this room but there weren't paying attention, so I quickly put the sticky note on her desk saying:

Lily,

Meet me at the back of the office 5 minutes after you finish work please, I promise I'm not trying to kidnap you.

I probably shouldn't have mentioned the kidnapping part but it's to late, I really hope she knows it is me who gave her the note. I mean no one else has the same initials as me in this building so I should be okay.

I look around the rooms once more making sure no one was looking and then I leave and head back to my office and look out the window waiting to see if she is back.

God I sound lonely and miserable.

Her and Ronni enter the room before the others and whatever they are taking about had brought a huge smile on Lily's face, so wide her eyes look like they are glowing. She truly is the most gorgeous person I have seen.

I watch as she begins to head to her desk and almost immediately she sees the not, I lay close attention to her as she reads it, I end up leaning closer to my desk, my leg shaking a bit. Once she has read it she looks directly at my office door, I can't tell what she is thinking as her face is showing nothing, absolutely nothing.

I should not have done this, I close my eyes and pinch above my nose.

The office hours are closed, I left a bit before and I am currently waiting in my car, she finished three minutes ago and I am yet to see her.

I start to reverse my car when I see a small figure come out of the back door, I get out and rush over to her noticing she didn't bring a coat with her today, I mean come on we live in the UK, we may as well have rain everyday.

I begin to jog over to her and take my jacket off and putting over her head as I walk her to my car. Before she gets in she stops and turns to look at me. "What is it you want from me Shaun?" She asks her hair damp, her eyes glossy from the rain, she looks unreal. I am truly lost for words when it comes to her.

Thank you so much for reading, sorry I took a while for this chapter but my grandad died a couple weeks ago so I wasn't really in the mood to write.
