Demetri and I decided to hangout so here I am, sitting in his bedroom. I've been here for a couple hours, we were watching the Hobbit. I definitely like the Hobbit way more than Lord of the Rings, and Demetri agrees, which makes us perfect friends.
He turns to face me instead of the movie, "Is it just me, or do you think Eli has been a bit weird recently?"
I raise my eyebrows, "I think he would be a lot better if you stopped insisting on calling him Eli. It really bothers him."
"I don't like this new persona he has," Demetri complains. "He calls everything that we used to like 'nerd shit' and never wants to hangout anymore."
"I think that's because he spends most of his time training," I answer.
"It still sucks."
I sigh, "Why don't you come to the beach with us soon? We'll all play volleyball together, I think we're going in a week. You should come."
"Okay," he smiles. "That sounds fun."
"Have you talked to Moon recently?" I ask him.
Demetri nods, "Yeah, we talk a lot actually."
"Oh okay," I'm nervous to ask him what I really want to. "Do you know if she has a thing for Eli?"
He gives me a look, "I think she might've, if you weren't in the picture. She won't do anything she knows you're with him."
"Girls don't always respect that though." Moon has been one of my best friends since I moved here, so I doubt she would do anything. I should try not to think about it.
Demetri picks up his phone, "Maybe I'll date her, then we can all be in relationships." He laughs, "That'd be cool."
After a couple more hours of hanging out with Demetri, I decide to go home for dinner. He offers me to stay for food at his place but I need to get home to Justin. It's around 6pm while I'm walking so it's still light out.
I go past the mini mart on my way home. I bought a couple things for dinner, mostly bread and pasta. I'm still shoving the stuff in my backpack as I walk outside, that's when I walk right into someone.
"Hey, Riley. Long time no see," Kyler stands in front of me. Crap, I didn't see him for awhile. I thought he went somewhere for the summer, I guess not.
"What do you want?" I try to shove past him but he grabs my arm and pulls me into the empty pocket between stores.
He slams me into the wall, keeping his hands on my shoulders. "Your friends have been getting really cocky recently. 'Rhea's been getting on my nerves."
"You've barely seen him," I try to push him off of my but he's stronger than I am and he barely budges. "It's summer break, you can't just leave us alone for the break?"
Kyler shakes his head, "No, I missed you. I know Dean has been missing you too." My skin goes cold. I haven't thought about Dean in awhile, I didn't think I had to. "We thought you could hangout tonight."
"I don't want to, get off of me Kyler." My hands are shaking so I keep them at my waist in the hopes that he won't notice.
He leans closer, "Come on, I'm sure your boyfriend wouldn't mind sharing you for a bit." I'm sure he would.
