My alarm goes off at 7 to get ready for school. I wanna look good today. I'm still upset about what happened with Demetri last night and it sucks to be going into the first day with one less friend. It'll be a good day though, Hawk and I already know we have first period together. Miguel's in that class too so we'll all sit with each other.
I put on the cutest outfit and curl my hair. I do my makeup quickly before walking out to make Justin and I breakfast.
Justin comes racing out of his room, "We gotta go! First day of school, let's go."
I chuckle, "You need breakfast bud. Can't go till lunch without eating."
He runs back from the door to the kitchen and grabs a granola bar from the cabinet. He holds it up to me, "Breakfast!" Then he runs right out the door. I grab my smoothie and follow after him. Once I've got my shoes on and my stuff in my bag, I walk out to see Justin with Miguel.
"Hey, Miggy." I call over to him as I walk up, "How's it going?"
He looks worried, "Have you heard from Tory? I couldn't find her last night and she hasn't texted me back yet."
I shake my head and frown, "Sorry. I haven't heard from her but maybe Aisha has? Did you text her?"
"She hasn't heard anything," Miguel sighs. "I messed up last night."
"What'd you do?"
"I kissed Sam," Miguel cringes.
I gasp, "I'm sorry what?"
He groans before telling me what happened, "Sam was drunk. She tripped and fell onto me while we were talking, and then we kissed."
I stop walking and turn to face him. "So you took advantage of her?" I say slowly.
He shakes his head fast, "No. No, I swear I didn't take advantage of her. It wasn't a long kiss and it wasn't anything more than that."
"But you're with Tory," I frown at him.
"I know, I know. I messed up," he looks down at the ground sadly.
I grimace, "Does Tory know about this?"
"No."
"It could be why you haven't heard from her," I tell him. He looks at me as I explain, "If she saw you kiss Sam then she's probably mad at you."
"Crap," Miguel hides his face in his hands.
I put my hand on his arm, "She might not have seen. You'll see her at school today, just talk to her then."
He nods, "Yeah. That's a good plan, thanks."
"Of course." The rest of our walk to the school is pretty quiet.
Aisha walks up to us once we get there, "Still no word from Tory?"
"No, what about you?" Miguel looks at her hopefully.
She shakes her head, "She won't text me back." There's no way Tory didn't see this kiss if she's ignoring everybody. I haven't bothered trying to text her, if she won't text Aisha back why would she reply to me. Aisha frowns, "I'm getting kind of worried."
"I couldn't even find her after the party," Miguel sighs. "You think she got in trouble with the cops?"
"I doubt it," I interject. "Tory's smart enough to know that she can't get caught. She would've ran when they got there."
"I don't know," Aisha says. "Missing the first day of school is not a good sign." We walk to our classes, all thinking about where Tory could possibly be.
