29. What is this? [Real Life]

Scarlett's POV

"Since when were Hailee, Chris, and Lizzie close?" Florence asked casually while munching on a bag of Lays chips. It was barbecued flavor. One of my favorite flavors.

"What?" I questioned confused at the randomness of the question

"You haven't seen Chris or Lizzie's snapchat stories?" Florence looks up from her phone. I shake my head,

"I haven't gone on the app in awhile, I don't really post so" I admitted. Florence gave me a judgmental stare before turning her phone around to show me something.

It was Chris's snapchat story of him and Lizzie smiling brightly at the camera. My lips flattened at the sight but shrugged,

"they're friends. it's normal to meet up once in awhile and catch up" I said still thinking of the picture.

"There's more" Florence flipped to Lizzie's story and it was another picture of them but this time, a goofy one. Lizzie had her hands in a handgun while Chris had his hands out, they were back to back.

"That's cute" I mumbled my teeth clenching unintentionally. Florence gave me a look before showing the other two stories. They were posts of the other on their story and they were talking about..pancake abs?

"They look like they're on a date" Florence innocently comments. I looked at her with disbelief, " a date?! why would you think that?"

Florence points at details in the pictures, "the picture Lizzie took of Chris. They're clearly at a restaurant. "

I squinted my eyes looking closer at the picture before shaking my head. That's a stupid explanation. That doesn't prove anything.

"Oh wow I viewed their stories late. This was like 18ish hours ago. They were out together yesterday. But.." Florence stops dramatically, "they're still hanging out together today the difference is that Hailee's with them"

I don't say anything and just make a gesture for her to show me. She turned her phone once again and I saw a paparazzi picture Hailee reposted of the trio.

"Parents?" I couldn't help but question why Hailee captioned her story like that

Florence shrugged, "She's always had a running joke about how Lizzie is not only her best friend but her mom. And I guess Chris has gained that daddy title also. Hence them being her parents" Florence laughs fondly thinking about Hailee and her crazy antics , snorting at the term 'daddy'.

I blinked at that and saw the last two photos, one of Chris, and then one of Lizzie both titled, "Hey dad" and "Hey mom".

It looked like they were having dinner together at Hailee's house and they looked so happy. The feeling of jealousy coursed through my veins at the thought of Lizzie with Chris.

"Hey Scarr" Florence tries to catch my attention, "Hey you're probably right that they're just friends. They're probably together a lot now because of Hailee. They seem to love the girl" Florence tries to reassure me.

I sigh at that before running my right hand through my hair.

"Something else is bothering you?" Florence seemed to know something was up with me.

"You remember when you told me to tell Lizzie?" I softly muttered making her nod slowly. Suddenly, her expression changed into disbelief,

"You haven't told her yet?"

I nodded at that.

"That was like 3-4 weeks ago Scarr!" Florence shouts.

"I know! I don't know, I freaked out again" I admitted

"You idiot" Florence exclaims looking at me. I tensed up at the girl's reaction.

"I was going to I swear!" I retorted back

"When? in another year?" Florence sarcastically replies back.

I groaned and sunk down into the cushion, "what if I'm too late?"

"No, nope. Not today. You are not acting like this" Florence stands up and grabs me, forcing me to sit up. She grabs my chin a little forcefully so that I had no choice but to stare at her.

"She loves you Scarlett. You may not realize that but does. You. need. to. talk. to. her. and you need to do it soon." Florence punctuates

Her words sunk in. I nodded slowly,

"I will. I'm going to tell her. " I watched Florence study me trying to see if I was lying or just saying it but I swear I'm going to tell Lizzie. I need to.

Seeing those pictures with Chris made me realize that I'm running out of time. I don't want her with anyone else.

I want her.

And I'm going to tell her.
