38. What really happened [Real Life]

No One's POV

At Hailee's house

"She just sat there. Didn't say anything?" Lizzie repeated flabbergasted. She knew Florence felt the same for the girl in front of her so she was genuinely shocked.

Hailee nodded, tears still streaming down her face. She didn't bother trying to hide it or wipe them away. She was so tired in trying to keep her emotions hidden. This was Lizzie. She was okay with being vulnerable with the girl.

"That's not right. She was probably just in shock" Lizzie explains

"Yeah shocked that I liked her romantically when she didn't see me that way." Hailee muttered

"No no no." Lizzie shook her head frantically, "That girl likes you back. Trust me Hailee. She does I know."

Hailee's eyes narrowed at that. She was joking right. "So why didn't she say something"

"She froze! Maybe she just couldn't believe you feel the same way. Florence can be a bit of an idiot sometimes" Lizzie complained at Florence's behavior

"Don't call her an idiot" Hailee snapped defending the girl despite anything

Lizzie snorts at this, "You two are going to give me a heart attack. I can't with you two. She likes you back! You just wait. She'll tell you"
Lizzie had a feeling Scarlett would send Florence over here soon enough to clear things up.

Hailee laughed sarcastically choosing to just humor her best friend and go along with it. "Alright sure"

Lizzie nodded seriously before leaning closely to examine Hailee. She looked like a wreck. She's been crying for awhile now making her eyes bloodshot red, her nose looked like rudolphs, and tear streaks could be seen if you looked closely.

Without thinking much, Lizzie took her hand and placed it on Hailee's cheek and leaning closer to the girl to examine the tear stains.

She sighed before affectionately rubbing her thumb where the tear stains were visible. She felt Hailee lean closer to her comforting touch. It's been a long day and she couldn't help but crave Lizzie's comforting affection.

"Stop crying okay? Everything will be okay, do you hear me?" Lizzie reassured but Hailee stayed silent.

Lizzie sighed before sitting on Hailee's lap and connecting her own forehead to Hailee's, "You'll be fine babygirl"

Hailee tenses the moment their foreheads connected before relaxing into her best friend.

"Okay" Hailee whispered before pulling away so their foreheads weren't connecting. She then yawned. Hailee looked at the time, it was close to midnight. She looked at Lizzie who looked back at her.

"Come here I know you're exhausted and I know you want to cuddle so come to mama" Lizzie joked opening her arms in invitation. Hailee grinned for the first time in hours before diving into Lizzie's arms and snuggling close.

Before Hailee knew it, she was fast asleep.

Scarlett's house

Florence groaned as she blindly reached for her phone to check the time, 9:04am. She blinked at the numbers as memories from yesterday came trickling in once again.

Florence barely slept. Once she was able to shut her mind off it was already 5am, giving her a solid 4 hours of sleep. Not bad I guess?

The blonde slowly walked around the room and began to clean herself up. The usual brushing your teeth, making the bed, and combing her hair.
