12. The stranger

After some time, Spencer and Hannah come back down.

''How'd you know I liked watching the sky, especially the stars ?''
''I said that during our second meet. I understood you were quite confused that time with everything else going on so you denied the fact, but i'm a God you see.''
''Thanks anyways.'' Hannah flashed him a smile when her phone rang. It was Stephen.

''Why's he calling so late ? Doesn't he have manners ?'' Spencer muttered loud enough as Hannah shushed him before receiving the call.
''Hello sir ! Ye ! Ye ! Aayegesebunhida !* Good night !''

*Aayegesebunhida : I get it*

Hannah seems a bit rushed and starts walking downstairs. Spencer follows her.

''I guess i'll have to head to the office.'' She said putting on her overcoat.
''What, right now ?''
''Yeah there are some files which I can only enter through the office's database so I need to go.'' Hannah rushed off.

''Oh wow, what's this smell ? Did someone cook Hannah's special ramen ?'' Rebecca asked as soon as she entered.
''Yeah Hannah did.'' Spencer said monotonously.
''Im sorry I bailed on you, but atleast you had ramen.'' Rebecca said while pouring some coffee.

''I didn't ask her to make that, she was the one insisting to cook something for me.''
''Yeah, Spencer I believe you.'' Rebecca said leaving out a chuckle.

''Talking about her, where's she ?''

''She's gone to the office. Your Mr. Stephen had some emergency.'' He said quoting the air inverted commas.
''But she shouldn't have gone alone. She knows our alley isn't that safe at this time of the night and plus the street lights also keep flickering, some are even dead. I'll just go and text her.'' She said walking towards her room with her phone and coffee in both hands.

Hannah finishes her work and heads back home. While she's walking in the alley she is reminded of the incident that happened with her on the rooftop of Shin industries and she starts to feel uneasy and scared.

She feels as if someone was following her. She stops when she sees the street light suddenly go off, next thing she feels someone hold her hand in the dark.

She gets startled and was about to scream when the lights come back for a second flashing light on the figure standing next to her.
''Spencer, what are you doing here ?'' She asked heaving a such of relief.
''You're house is too small so I had to step outside for a stroll.'' He said trying not to look at her while she just stared at him.
''You might be wearing layers of clothes but im not. Mind moving your feet ?'' He said now facing her but quickly looked away when he found her already looking at him.

The street light went off again but it only tightened the grip of Spencer's hold on her wrist.
A slight smile appeared on Hannah's face as they walked towards their house.

Meanwhile at Stephen's,

''How long do we have to wait ? Seokga already found the descendant before us, he's a step ahead of us.'' Mara said irritated.

''I know, but its difficult to find the Eternal fire now because the locations have changed all these years.'' Stephen explained.

''Give me two more days time Haemosu.'' Damein said.
''Take all the time you need Yeomna but the information should be solid. By the way, why did you ask my permission to stay with Jaiden ?''
''Hannah's friend Rebecca....''

''Rebecca ? What about her ?''
''I feel there's something wrong with her. I'm not sure yet i'll tell you when I am.''

Next evening,
At the office, Stephen calls Hannah to his cabin.

''Yes sir, you called for me ?''
''Hannah we have to visit a seminar tomorrow remember ?''
''Yes sir.'' Hannah's phone rings, she declines the call.
''Sorry sir.''
''No problem. Yeah so, it will be at 6 in the evening,----'' Hannah's phone rings again as she keeps declining it.
''You can receive it.''
''No sir, it's fine.''
''So I was saying it will be at 6 in the eve---'' The phone rings again.

''I'm sorry i'll just take it. Im sorry.'' Hannah spoke embarrassed.
''It's fine.''
''What is it Spencer ? You know i'm at work. Stop calling me again and again. I'll talk to you when I get home.'' Hannah whisper screamed at Spencer on the call.
''Sorry sir, please continue.''
''Yeah so it will be at six in the evening. I would have taken Mara but she has to attend other errands, i'm sorry you already have a lot of work piled up.''
''No sir, It's alright.''
Later,

''Rebecca, you aren't home yet ? I thought we were going grocery shopping.''
''I'm so sorry Hannah, I guess i'll be staying half an hour more at the hospital that is why I asked Spencer to go with you. Didn't he call you ?''
''Oh yeah.... Of course he did.'' She remembered.

''Spencer is the last option i'll be going for, no problem i'll go alone.''
''Hannah, it'll be a lot of stuff please truce your fights for some time.'' Rebecca pleaded from the other end.
''Fine, I'll see what to do.''

''So let's go !'' Spencer said popping out of nowhere.
''Just don't irritate me throughout this time, I beg of you.'' Hannah gave him a tired look.
''When did I irritate you ?'' Hannah just rolled her eyes at his antics.

They reach the supermarket and Hannah starts picking stuff. Just when they're on the payment counter she realises she didn't had her wallet.

''What ? Mwoya ?!'' She exclaimed.
''What happened ?''
''I think I lost my wallet.'' She said with a horror stricken face.
''Great !'' Spencer three his hands in the air.
''Where did I keep it ?'' She murmured looking around when her phone rang.

''Hello, sir ?''
''You left your wallet at the office, I have it. Tell me where you are i'll drop it.''
''I'm at the supermarket.''
''I'm nearby, i'll be there.''
''Thank you so much.''

''He has your wallet ?'' Spencer asked.
''Yeah I left it at the office, he said he'll come here to give it back.''
''He surely loves dropping everything and everyone. He drops you and now he's dropping your wallet.'' Spencer murmured.
''You said anything ?''
''Nope.''

''Wait ! Chairman Stephen's coming here ! He can't see you with me. Just go somewhere. Now.'' Hannah panicked.
''Where should I go ?''
''Anywhere ! Just go !''
''I'm not going anywhere. And why should I go anywhere ? And why does it matter if he even saw us together ? I already told everyone we're dating so it should be fine.'' Spencer said non chalantly.
''No, it's not.''

Hannah was just talking to Spencer to hide when Stephen reaches the supermarket and finds Hannah with Spencer.

''You have company. Well here's your wallet.'' He said with covetousness as he passed the wallet to Hannah.
''Hello, Spencer.'' He added but Spencer ignored him.
''Thank you so much sir. Im sorry you had to come all the way here---''
''It's fine, i'll be leaving now.'' He said not looking in her eyes as he walked away glancing back again and again.

Hannah and Spencer were moving out when they were done shopping just when Hannah bumps into a stranger.
They both apologize to each other continuing to walk away. Hannah had no clue who she just bumped into.

''Okay, my role ends here. I'm going to my room.'' Spencer said tiredly walking to his room.
''So, how was shopping ?'' Rebecca asked as Hannah slumped in the couch.
''I felt like I would faint there.'' She said chugging some water.
''Why ?''
''Chairman Stephen saw us together.''
''What ? He saw Spencer and you together ?''
''Yeah, I dont know how i'm gonna bear him any more. Things aren't getting any better. I will have to talk to him tomorrow.''
''But we have office tomorrow.''
''Oh right, I forgot to tell you. Im going to a seminar with Chairman Stephen tomorrow so I wont be coming to office.''
''Then you have time.''
''Bingo.''
